If you were to chew and swallow any Castor Bean, the released ricin could cause injuries. Ricin can be produced from the waste material left over from processing castor beans. Castor Beans are grown and processed to make Castor Oil. Ricin is part of the waste "mash" when castor oil is made. It can be made in the form of a powder, mist, or even a pellet. It can also be dissolved in water or some sort of weak acid.
                 Effects on the body:
When ricin gets into the cells of the body, it prevents the cells from producing the protein that they need. Without the protein, the cells die. This can harm the whole body and may eventually cause death.
