Cause and effect: Obesity

Thesis statement:

There are several causes and
effects of obesity. The most common factors in the onset of obesity are lack of
exercise, imbalance diet and genetics factor. Effects of obesity is directly
linked to several life-threatening disorders, such as the beginning signs of
heart disease and other health problems, distorts
people's physical appearance and posture as well as the psychological effect.

Body paragraph 1: Causes

One of the main reasons of obesity is
lack of physical exercise. Individuals who do not undergo physical exercise are
at a greater risk of suffering from obesity. Another common cause
of obesity is imbalance diet. Nowadays, people are consuming more and
more junk food, and junk food contains more fat, sugar than essential minerals
and vitamins. As a result, imbalanced diet become major factor for obesity.
Genetics is also one of the reasons for obesity. Studies have
shown that people can inherit a tendency toward obesity.

Body paragraph 2: Effect

Obesity has severe impacts. People who
suffer from obesity usually have fatty deposits build up in arteries that
supply blood to heart. As a result, the narrowed arteries
can cause chest pain or a heart attack. Also, obesity is the major cause
of type 2 diabetes. Obesity can cause resistance to insulin, consequently
the blood sugar becomes elevated. The excessive fat tissue in the body need
nutrients to live, as a result the blood vessels need to circulate more blood,
this increases the load of heart. As a result, the person will face
high blood pressure problem.

Body paragraph 3: Effect

Obesity will distorts people's physical appearance and posture. Obesity may cause spinal changes in some people due to
the excess strain that is put on the supportive structures in the back. As a
consequence, it change people's physical appearance and this can
lead to back pain.As a result, it can lead to Hyperlordosis , which occurs
when the back curves inward too much.

Body paragraph 4: Effect

Obesity induced psychological effects to obese
people. Obese people have been found several times to have higher rates of
depression. When they are sad, anxious or stressed, they tend to be overeating
and this become a perpetual cycle of mood swing, overeating and weight gain.
Obese people may have made attempt to lose weight, however, with little or no
success. This result in discouragement and frustration among obese people. As a
result, psychological state of obese people are unstable, and lead to
dissatisfaction and depression.

Block organisation: Type A
organisation since the effects are more significant than the causes.

i think that he has correctly used the target language to show us the cause and effect of obesity, the effect is definitely far more deadly and serious; therefore focusing on the effect rather the cause is way more effective. what do you think, Miki?
