Over the past couple hundred years animal population has decreased, and with humans dominating it is more terrible than before. For some animals population hasn’t gone down, but with other animals the population has just plummet. Animals are endangered because of humans. Animals suffering from global warming, habitat loss, and animals being over hunted. Global warming is something that has increased so much in the past hundred or so years. In the website The world counts it says, “ According to a continuous study conducted by the NASA’s Goddard institute, the Earth’s average global temperature has risen by 0.8 degrees Celsius or 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880.” this highlights how terrible global warming has gotten, and it keeps going up and it’s going up faster. Some birds have changed their migration patterns because of global warming. One animal that is affected by global warming is the polar bear. The polar bear lives in Canada, Greenland, Norway, Russia, and Alaska. Polar bears are endangered because in some areas that they live in, during summer the ice starts to melt. So because the ice is melting they are forced to stay on land and they don’t eat much. Habitat loss is one of the worst because when animals are living in smaller areas than the fight for food, mate, land. In the article Animal Endangerment and its causes it says, “ For instance, 46,000 to 58,000 square miles (119,000 150,000 square kilometers) of forest each year are destroyed worldwide, the equivalent of 36 football fields each year.” This shows that maybe pretty soon there won’t be enough habitat space for animals and with less space comes less food. One animal that is suffering from habitat loss is the tiger. Tigers live in small areas of India and very little areas of China. The grizzly bear is another animal that is suffering from habitat loss. The used to live all along the west coast from California to Alaska. Now they only live in Alaska, Canada, and some lower states.
