I think the outdoor included this to show how Sarah Corbin felt about the fact her son had special needs and that she wanted to raise him, and she still loved him even though he had cerebral palsy. I think that this is powerful because even though Petey has special needs and can’t talk and communicate very good, he and Calvin are actually communicating throughout grunts, noises and gestures.

I think that this is really powerful because Petey, even though he is an “idiot”, he helps. So far from the book, I see Petey and Calvin laughing together. I feel there is a really good friendship between them. Calvin and Petey are really good friends, and because they are friends, they should care for each other. I think that this or really really important because in the book, it said that Joe was like their father, they spent Christmas together and had soo much fun. I think that Joe left because he was old. (I don’t mean it in a rude way)

I think that these paragraphs are really important for two reasons. First, it shows dialogue between a cerebral palsy patient and an eighth grade kid. Second, it shows that Petey gets to try something new, fishing. It was probably very exciting for him to do some new things. When he was in the institution, he got excited when he got to go outside. In this paragraph, I really love how readers can almost feel the emotions of the characters. Trevor thinks of Petey as a friend, and Petey thinks of Trevor as family. I’ve noticed that Petey treats all of his friends as family. I think that this is because he is so warm hearted and friendly. What are your feelings about this paragraph? The dull nasal voice crackled with laughter. Trevor figured he'd better doubly make sure Calvin lived their. " Whats your name?" He asked," My name is Sadie." The lady announced proudly." Sadie, I'll bet you don't know Calvin's last name, do you?"" Of course I know Calvin's last name. He lives here. Not on the stove I don't mean. He lives down the hall."" So Sadie what's Calvin's last name?"" That's easy. Hhiisss naaaammme iiisss Caaallvviiinnn... Aannnderrrsss. Calvin Anders. Yup that's his name. See, I told you I knew it." Once more she giggled. Trevor found Calvin Anders! He was in Hamilton, a town nearly 200 miles away. "Remember don't sleep on the stove." Trevor told Sadie.


This shows that Trevor really cares about Petey, because he would go to all that trouble, and spend all that money on the phone, just to find Calvin so Petey and him could meet again.
