Last year there was an issue with some teachers being done and others not and students in the hallways. Once students returned they were "held" until everyone was done and then students went on about the day/schedule. This made 2nd period really short as compared to the other class periods. Teachers that had 2nd period prep lost those prep minutes and classes simply didn't have time to do what they had planned. I found it all very stressful. As an additional note, last year we weren't serving breakfast in the classroom and all students were not in-person. So, there will be additional pressures that may infringe on time that weren't present last year.
I would prefer a schedule that includes more buffer time to alleviate some of the time pressure cooker.
