Forensic Anthropology caught my attention initially. While the research was incredibly interesting, the limited job opportunities and extensive education requirements made me reconsider. I'm now more interested in crime scene investigation, as it offers more immediate employment prospects and hands-on fieldwork.

Forensic pathology is the forensic area that I chose to explore further. As I mentioned on the first day of class, I am considering going into a Post-Bacclulareute program to then attend medical school to become a Forensic Pathologist. After researching and reviewing the characteristics involved with this field as well as the benefits and pay, I am even more enthused by this career path. I've always wanted to work alongside detectives, attorneys, and the legal system. But, I also value education and look to challenge myself more each day. Something that I also noted was the joint degrees in forensic psychology master's and J.D., offered at select institutions from the article we read. This is something that I have also considered, but I am still leaning towards medical school.

The forensic area I focused on was forensic social worker. This focus area definitely makes me consider this as an option as I’ve previously had interest in the social work field when I get my masters. For me it grasps my attention quickly once I realized one of the populations this field could potentially work with was children and hospital facilities.

I have always been interested in becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist for my area of context and my research did help me decide this as a potential career path. The only downfall is having at least a Master's and not being able to really use a Bachelor's Degree. I love giving advice and helping people with their problems especially couples because I love being able to help a struggling couple.

I chose forensic social work to investigate further. As a psychology major, I've considered forensic psychology and social work as possible career options, so when I saw forensic social work, I was instantly interested. After research, I would consider this a career path because it combines my interests. From a young age, I was also interested in crime and psychology. With more time and research, this may be what I chose to do.

I chose to do forensic pathology. The research I did on it did not encourage me to pursue this as a potential career because I don’t want to work with dead people. Psychology alone is pretty draining but forensic pathology is extremely stressful. Instead, I would choose forensic social work or just clinal psychology.

Forensic pathology caught my attention because it was originally what I wanted to go into in the forensics realm. I ultimately wound up falling in love with forensic psychology. After my research I definitely began to consider switching or changing to a double major so I am able to have a greater field of opportunities and ensure my happiness in my future career. I like the option of either being in a lab and working hands-on or out in the world communicating with people and studying the human brain and factors that effect the course of someone's life.

The forensic area I chose was Forensic Anthropology. This is something I found very interesting when reading, but I do not see myself considering this a career path. You need years and years of education and it seems to be very emotionally draining so it would not be something I am interested in. I am interested in a field where there isn't such a limited amount of jobs and I am not dealing with human remains. I enjoy studying the human brain.

I chose to do forensic social work. This was interesting to me because at the start of college I was interested in social work as a possible career path. I ultimately chose to steer away from that idea because, in any kind of social work, I felt that the lifestyle wouldn't be as rewarding as I had hoped. It puts a lot of mental strain on you from the second hand traumas that are involved in the job, and at the end of the day, I just didn't think I would be able to handle all of it. Especially in the case of forensic social work with having to work in correctional facilities, juvenile justice centers, and environments along those lines I don't think I would be able to handle the intensity of the career as a whole.

My name is Jennifer Acevedo Cardenas. I chose forensic digital investigation. This field isn't a career path for me because it mainly involves being tech-savvy which I'm not skilled in. I'm more interested in law enforcement rather than forensic because it's a more hands-on experience I aspire to do. However, the forensic area is something I look forward in learning as well.

I chose to look into forensic social services which was very interesting and educational. Forensic social services is essentially aiding the families and loved one that could be effected from a possible crime or abuse situation. Forensic social services also aid not only the families, but the possible victims from the crime. Forensic social services work towards “crisis intervention, legal advocacy and guidance, counseling and therapy, individual and community education, and program development” as stated by (Online MSW Programs, n.d.) I am now very interested in this field for a possible career path now that I know more about.

They advocate for individuals in the justice system and provide support for victims and offenders, and families. I find this interesting but I don't think its something I would pursue further. I feel like I would be interested in something along the lines of crime scene investigation.

The forensic area that I found most interesting was Forensic Social Work. I don't know what area I want to focus on specifically after I get my bachelor's, but social work has always caught my attention. Helping others has always been something I dreamed of doing, therefore, being able to do that in this field and specifically focus on helping those in the legal system makes me consider this as a potential career path.

Although this is not my career path, I found Forensic Pathology interesting due to the fact that it caught my attention and made me want to learn more about those who chose this as their career and why. It is a branch of medicine that typically deals with understanding the cause of someones death through examining the body. The reasoning as well as great understanding as to how these particular situations occurred occurred. I can see why one would consider this career path because not only are you helping families but giving them closure as to why and how something happened. It is not an easy job and takes lots and lots effort. I look forward to learning more.

I chose to research forensic social work because I had never heard of that job title before. It sounded interesting to me; however, it did not make me consider it as a career path. I do not think I am skilled in the right areas for this type of job and I have never been interested in working within the legal system. I do love that this area involves helping others, which is a big part of what I plan on doing for the rest of my life. But I am still focused on becoming a speech-language pathologist, and do not plan on looking more into a forensic area of work.

I chose to do forensic sciences. I chose this content area because I thought it would be an interesting job to explore and learn about. The job requires you to use forensic evidence from crime scenes. Although this isn’t the area of psychology I am interested in studying it does seem like a great career.

I chose forensic digital investigation as it is in a similar area where I want to work. It is not something I want to pursue but I do want to work with federal law enforcement and work with human trafficking victims. This field would require both knowledge in psychology and skills necessary for federal investigation. While this job would also involve investigation and the written skills that come with it, federal law enforcement would be more so hands-on and less technical. Federal organizations look for vast knowledge in different specialities so I would love to learn more about forensic digital investigation but I would not pursue it as my main career.
