We observed students working in collaborative groups. They were also engaging in critical and creative thinking by showing various ways to solve a problem. They took action and reflected on their learning. There was also evidence of play-based learning. Learning was seen as joyful and enthusiastic.

Learning with enthusiasm, try things in a new way, confidence, work together, use their time wisely. This is a taught behavior of how to work together. Curious and engaged in their learning by using the recipe idea. Learning independently and collaborate with others. Reflective on learning, the students were teaching the concept to build better understanding. Developing skills of inquiry and research.

The students are experimenting and playing with possibilities when they were showcasing and explaining their answers to their classrooms.
Students are applying concepts to deepen conceptual understandings because they are taking their previous knowledge of adding to explain the relationship between numbers.
Students are collecting data and reporting findings when they are explaining how they came up with an answer.
Students took and defended their answers when they would write their explanations on how they came to their answers.
The groups were able to solve problems in a variety of ways, either with letters or shapes or dots or numbers or words.
