    • Meaningful Advancements to Society: Many possibilities of innovations are available and one could be finding a way to eliminate the oil usage. This would change the world because currently the world has a high oil usage.
    • High Pay Benefits: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2012, chemical engineers earned a median salary of $94,450. In Texas, chemical engineers had an average salary of $120,700.

    • Hazardous Working Conditions: Chemical engineers can be exposed to dangerous conditions in their workplace. Even though safety precautions are taken, accidents can still happen at mining facilities, manufacturing plants, and chemical processing operations. They can suffer chronic exposure or be exposed to toxic chemicals.
    • Extended Post-Secondary Education: Chemical engineers will need a master’s degree and often times a doctoral degree as well to be well qualified for this job. This requires many years of studying and a lot of money for courses.
    • Poor Job Prospects: As mentioned above, this job is predicted to grow very less in the next few years. New technologies such as biotechnology could decrease the demand for chemical engineers.

  • She introduced many computer concepts, so she is considered the first computer programmer.
  • Her mother believed in engaging Ada in rigorous studies
  • Lovelace showed a talent for numbers and language. 
  • She contributed a lot to the computer science and engineering field.
  • This relates to chemical engineering because these innovations allowed the chemical engineers to be able to do the many things they do today.
  • They use computer programs for modeling and other things that require extensive manipulating.
  • Ada Lovelace received posthumous honors for her work because her contributions were found after her death. A computer language is named after her.
  • She foresaw the capabilities of computers and spent her life learning the various things a computer can do with code through computer science.
  • The ambitions of Ada Lovelace set the stage for more ideas yet to come and contributing to math and science related fields.
