I work in the back mostly on research but also am the one who would perform surgery on your eye. When working with you eye I would use a couple different beach essentials to help me fix your eyes to see the paradise in a whole new way. The tools are ophthalmoscope which helps me see your eye better. Another tools is retinoscope to help me further examine the eye. I will then use different surgical tools when performing surgery on your eye.

A patient came in to me with glaucoma but did not yet know about it. I have what I call check up beach where I check your eyes it is an all white exam room. When we first meet I will ask you some questions about your eyes and then I will start using my retinal camera to take a picture of the inside of your eye. I will then use my handy dandy sunglasses also known as a phoropter and find out your prescription by flipping different lenses and you will call out which one is better for your eye. If I find out that you need contacts or glasses I will use a tool called manual keratometer which will measure your cornea size which will help with the sizing of contacts. If need be I will use other tools like autorefractor, slit lamp, tonometer, lensometer, retinoscope, and direct ophthalmoscope in special occasions or when need be to help me give you better eyesight to see the paradise better then you've ever had.
My favorite success story
Mine was actually with a patient who came in because he could not see the board at school. He was struggling and thought he needed glasses. We ended up getting into the exam room, and I started testing his eyes using the phoropter. He was very confused as to what he was looking for, and he was just overall overwhelmed with everything that was going on. So to help him I ended up letting him change the lenses, and let him participate in it to help him better understand. We then had him try on a pair of glasses with the prescription he picked and he ended up being able to see very well and is now one of my favorite patients who is planning on going to school to be an optometrist.

One day I had a teen girl come in to get a pair of glasses. Upon coming in she was already angry because she didn't want to look ugly with her glasses. I promised her that she would look better after seeing the incredible pam. We were looking for different glasses around the store and I finally found the perfect pair. I sat her down in the chair and put them on for her and she ended up loving them and thanking me and just kept thanking me. Something about getting the ability to make a bad thing such as bad eyesight turn into something good just makes my job amazing.
