Students in small groups create a set of taboo cards per topic. Students choose other associated word they are not allowed to say when describing the word/term for others to guess.

Narrate over one of your own revision power-points and upload it your blog or VLE for students to access and ask further questions. This could feature exam technique for example. Other teachers in your department could play it to their classes also.

Model answer match-up

Give each student in a group part of a model answer. They must stand in the correct order and read their answer to the class. Each group could have different style of question or topic!

Select high attaining students in your subject to film a short video demonstrating excellent exam technique. Engage and enthuse.

Speed dating

Students given A3 sheet with past questions. Textbook and revision guide can be used. A, B, C & D question from @edexcel Religious Studies for each unit on sheet. Students change every 5 mins to find another partner/sheet and add to what is already there.

Sock Puppet app

There is an ipad/iphone sock puppet app which allows you to narrate over....yes puppets! I have some Year 11 narrating how to answer specific style questions. It could be shared at one of your after school revision sessions for your particular subject.

Peer assessment

Whatever your subject there is bound to be large chunks of text, otherwise known as assessment objetives. How about after students complete a piece of work you pick out selected phrases as a checklist for students to circle and see if their partner has 'hit' certain aspects. They could respond further by giving two pieces of feedback. This is more suitable for essay based subjects.

VLE Quiz

Give students an end of topic quiz to test their knowledge. Using Moodle these can be self-marked and save you heaps of time. They can be re-used the following year also. Create directly from Moolde or import questions from programs such as content generator.

Arrange students to stand in a circle in your classroom. They are each given a word from a unit of work. Give the ball of garden string to one student to begin, they must make a reference/link with another word from around the room. The teacher moves the string to create visual links between all key themes/terms in a unit. Also tests ability to see the bigger picture of the unit/topic.
