1977 - Graduated from
the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. degree in electrical engineering 

1978 & 1985 - Graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree

1982 - Co-founded Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), a company that developed 3-D computer graphics technology

1986 - "Named the company’s principal scientist for the creation of computer programs like Personal IRIS, Indigo, Indigo2, and Indy graphics that were used to create effects for movies like Jurassic Park, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunt for Red October, and Field of Dreams."

Marc's programs were also used to make TV commercials and the opening for Monday Night Football. His company’s technology is used to design cars, airplanes, and military training programs.
