We spent a great deal of time learning about the Chicano immigrants from Mexico, and I was severely impacted by their story. Coming from a non 'American' background, I have never heard of the Chicanos before in my life, and it seemed like most of my classmates haven't either. I am quite passionate about humanitarian issues around the world, and I was surprised to see people (not that long ago) being treated unfairly.
