This can be fixed by practicing what I am going to say before I say it so i don't be nervous and I can be as confident. Another skill that I need to develop is resolving conflict. I tend to just not solve problems which can be negative because this leads to tension developing which can have a negative impact on group work.

The role that I played in my group presentation is that I played the role of being the better example in the situation. Our video was about someone bullying a disabled person. I was the one to tell the person to stop bullying the person and to be nice to him due to the fact that he was blind.

This week I started reading a book. Since I am self isolating at home, this is keeping me busy. The book that i read is called 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding. This book is basically about a group of boys who got in a plane crash which left them to be on a deserted island. Throughout the novel, they were forced to adjust to this new way of life. They would get food from killing various animals and eventually they began to start acting like animals because of the lack of human interaction they had and they also had no adult watching what they do. This main purpose of the novel was to show that without an adult or humans around, people can conform to their surroundings and act like whatever is around them, in this case, it was the animals that was around them. Even though the book was interesting, one of the difficulties i faced was trying to finish the book. Even though the novel was very interesting, trying to finish it while doing assessments was a very difficult task for me.

Another novel that I read which improved my reading skills is a novel called "Beka Lamb" by Zee Edgell. This novel is basically about a teenage girl who grew up in Belize. It tells a story about how she grew up and the various things she encountered throughout her life. I faced one challenge when reading this novel. The challenge that I faced was that the novel was told backwards, therefore the novel started with the ending an ended with the beginning. This made it difficult to read due to the fact that everything was opposite. Even though this made completing the novel more difficult because it took me longer to understand, it helped my reading skills improve which leads me to reading more complicated text.

My "handling change" skill was improved because instead of presenting group projects like I would normally in front of my a class, I had to convert myself into fully presenting using powerpoint. For example, for my English Legal System Class, I had to do my presentation on powerpoint and had to do the audio on powerpoint also. This was a major change for me because I never had to include an audio on powerpoint because usually when presenting all presentations are done in a classroom setting. Therefore, by doing this, it forced me to get accustomed to presenting in a different format.

Overall, I believe that my reading skills most definitely improved during this time. This is because I constantly was reading. I read 2 novels and also was required to read various articles for my online classes. Reading text that were not as easy to understand improved my reading skills because it forced me to take an extra period of time to fully understand the novel and what was being said. Reading long articles also helped to improve my reading skills because when I read long articles usually my focus span is not very long, therefore, I tend to not understand what the article is saying. However with me being forced to read these articles for my assessments, it increased my focus span which will be very useful in University.

My handling change skill was also improved due to me adjusting to not being in person learning the content for my various modules. I learn best with a hands on approach. With certain modules, I would prefer to be in class so things can be explained fully and I can ask questions right away and get a direct response. With online classes being converted to being on zoom and other forms of communication. I had to become accustomed to asking questions through email and not getting a response right away.

My "Handling change" skill also improved in terms of my sleeping schedule. When I was able to go to class at Friston I woke up a certain time and went to class. However, with classes being converted online and me being so far away from England, i would have to wake up earlier to attend the various classes I had. For example, sometimes my English Legal System class would begin at 10am England time, which is 5am in The Bahamas. Therefore, this forced me to wake up earlier to be prepared for my online session.

In this TED talk she speaks about the change that she had in her life such as being a widow. She also speaks about how in The United Kingdom they are not good at adapting to the change that is going on. She also speaks about how as humans we need to realize as people that the things that we did in the past to adapt to change in the past, will not always work in the future.

For my international Development presentation, I had to read an article on how women play an important role in the development of a country. Throughout this article it speaks about how woman are valued in the development of a country in many ways. Women are the main ones teaching students in the education sector. Women are also the main ones who watch after children while men are at work. These two points were elaborated in the article which proves that women are just as valuable as men in society even though they are not seen to be most of the time.
