         <description><![CDATA[<div>Generators are used across the world in nearly every industry as a way to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. Before electricity can be formed, a combustion or change in energy must first happen to a reaction in order to create heat that turns into kinetic energy thus powering generators/generation stations. Examples of chemical combustion were first used after Étienne Lenoir creation of the internal engine in 1860. In 1876 the first commercial internal combustion engine was created.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When Thomas Wilson was attempting to create aluminum from lime and tar he mistakenly threw the product into the water and to his surprise, it combusted on impact producing a large puffy flame and smoke. He had discovered a calcium carbide or CaC2 an extremely reactive solid that combusts violently on impact with water. This technology should lead to pressure systems to control the reaction over long periods of time in order to make another sustainable more clean fuel. Unfortunately due to the speed of the reaction, at this point in time it seems very difficult. Hopefully Thomases experiment will inspire future chemist to experiment with more efficient fuels that will not only benefit us but also our planet</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Once you have done well in high school you should go to university to either become an environmental engineer or a chemical physicist in order to become someone who does research. Most likely if you are working a job like Thomas Wilson it would be either for universities as a researcher or even the government and military sector.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical generators often use fuels like crude oil or natural gas as they are very combustible and readily available. The complete combustion happens throughout the generation of electricity by producing heat therefore energy and turning it into kinetic energy. In the organic chemistry unit we learned about combustion and decomposition reactions were viewed in a much more detailed manner, we were shown the exact type of combustion that fuels generators every single day.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Pros vs Reality</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Gas engines are by far the most needed resource / technology in 2020. Unfortunately it is currently not viable to switch to completely clean renewable energy as we don't have the infrastructure and resources to do that. Hopefully other more complete chemical combustions will be added to cars to make them cheaper and much better for the atmosphere. CO2 and CO are both emitted from the back of cars , not only are they both bad for the environment but CO can kill you if inhaled for prolonged periods of time.</div>]]></description>
