Dear  Administrator,

I am excited about school year 2018-2019! Every year I get excited, but this time, it’s more so. I’m going to start in a new school, meet new colleagues and a new set of wonderful families. It’s time for a change. I AM READY!

Technology allows learners to create, communicate and to think critically. Higher order thinking happens when students feel involved with what they are learning. I am convinced that engagement is the key. Engagement is something that I’ve improved on every year; however, I feel I can do better. I know that if  100 percent of my students are engaged, scores will increase and most importantly, students will be more motivated to learn at their highest potential. I have always believed this and have tried as best I could to incorporate technology and problem based learning opportunities in my classroom. I have been given an opportunity to learn about the numerous technology tools and problem based learning ideas that I can incorporate into my classroom.  Since January 2018, I've completed my second course in the National Louis ESL endorsement program, the second class showing me ideas on integrating technology with ESLs. I'm currently taking a class taught by Matt Miller (Ditch the Textbook author), Google 1 certification coursework thru Kasey Bell and I'm sharing my knowledge with current educators on an individual level.  I am ready to implement what I have learned at your school this August.

Using SeeSaw and ClassDojo, I have brought parent involvement into my classroom. I’d like to continue involving families from all lifestyles into what I do in my classroom. As we know, parents and guardians are important. I am positive that strengthening the bond between school and home strengthens the learning process. Programs and applications that I discovered can make this happen. So do I just abandon the parents who aren’t technologically inclined or haven’t any technology in the home? No, I take the situation as a challenge awaiting to be tackled.
