If I could go back to my first week at DMU, I’d tell myself to ask questions, get involved, stay organized, use university resources, and enjoy the journey. Engaging with lecturers, joining societies, and making connections early would be valuable. Staying on top of deadlines and using support services would make things smoother. Most importantly, university is more than just studying—so make the most of every experience!

If I could give my university self advice, I’d say don’t stress too much about having everything figured out. Focus on learning, not just grades. Build skills, make connections, and explore different opportunities. Get out of your comfort zone, whether it’s joining clubs or networking with professors. Balance is key prioritize your mental and physical health alongside academics. Lastly, don’t be afraid to fail or change direction growth comes from challenges, and the path to success is rarely a straight line. Enjoy the journey!

I am glad to contribute to this yearbook as a PostGrad Student of Finance and Banking.

Academically, DMU has been a place of inspiration, with supportive lecturers and engaging coursework that constantly pushed me to do better. Late-night study sessions, last-minute assignment submissions, and the thrill of finally understanding complex concepts—all these moments have shaped my academic journey. All this has helped me push my limits.

If I could go back to my first week at DMU, I would tell myself not to stress because I didn’t know anything at the time. Instead, I would suggest learning more, being more active in class, and not stressing over everything. The staff here have been incredibly helpful, assisting me with any problems I encountered. Additionally, the students come from diverse cultures and countries, and although I initially thought I might face difficulties in making new friends, everything turned out perfectly. Overall, I really appreciate and enjoy my experience at DMU.

I really enjoy my journey at De Montfort University, especially the exciting events that create a vibrant campus experience. The sports activities help me stay active and build teamwork skills. Additionally, the assignments are practical and insightful, preparing us for future careers.

My journey to DMU has not only broaden my Academic Knowledge but has also built my confidence level. Before my journey to DMU, I used to be a low esteem person but meeting people from different cultural backgrounds, I began to admire myself and my culture more due to my diversity exposure.

What I’ve always wanted in education is hands-on learning and teachers who are friendly and motivating, which I found at DMU. Even though the university has students from many different backgrounds, the teachers are energetic, well-prepared, and focused on both teaching the subjects and helping students with their careers. The International Students Support and Career Advice Centre are also really helpful for international students.

What I like most about my journey at De Montfort University is the blend of academic depth and real-world exposure. The university doesn’t just teach finance and banking theory, it constantly encourages applying knowledge through projects, presentations, and industry engagement.
