      <title>MBE-Based Lesson Planning Template by Karen Costa</title>

      <description>This MBE-Based Lesson Planning Template attempts to address two primary needs in higher education. First, there are numerous resources to aid K-12 teachers in creating lessons plans for their classes. However, the same is not true for higher education faculty. The MBE-Based Lesson Planning Template will assist higher education faculty to create lesson plans using a simple and sustainable process. Second, there is a need for teaching resources grounded in what science reveals knows about how brains learn best. Research indicates there is a prevalence of neuromyths (false beliefs about the brain that often achieve popular status) in education, such as believing students learn best when teaching is tailored to their learning styles or the belief that people are either right-brain or left-brain learners. The MBE-Based Lesson Planning Template will provide faculty with the most recent research on MBE teaching strategies and a lesson plan template built upon how brains learn best.</description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This project will instruct faculty in MBE-science by integrating those principles into a lesson planning template. <br><br>Faculty need the simplest tools possible that can have the largest impact on their success and the success of their students. <br><br>An open access lesson planning template that anyone can use, at any time, for no cost, is the most effective method to disseminate this information.<br><br>Each section of the template will have prompts that are simple, but still grounded in MBE science. Each section links to an additional Google doc that explains the concept in more detail, gives examples, and offers additional resources. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This lesson plan will be evaluated in two ways:<br>1. Social listening: what is the reaction to the template on social media? Who is using the template? How is it helping them?<br>2. Survey: <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWotPpSfMv8ePWekRb8WNEbi3PumGnTtruyXV9ZaK9OZIATg/viewform">A link to a survey</a> (hosted in Google forms) will appear in the footer of the template asking for feedback. When disseminating the form via social media, faculty will be reminded about that survey, and asked to complete it. There will be an emphasis on the template being free, and encouragement for people to serve the broader teaching community by providing their feedback in the form after their first use or subsequent uses. This survey will assess faculty's satisfaction with the form and seek recommendations for continuous improvement.</div>]]></description>
