A social worker is someone who works with children depending on their homelife and well being. For example if a child was in a bad situation the social worker would take them out of their home/to places to distract them and help them fic the situation that's has happened. which leads me onto the point that one in three children who experience sexual, physical or mental abuse won’t tell anyone till they are an adult. if you take a child’s voice away from them and make them feel like they don’t have a trusted adult in their life it could lead them to getting further pain and suffering . Children don’t have the awareness of what’s right and wrong and it is inportant that every child feels comfortable sharing everything so that child feels safe to. Even children who aren’t going through those extreme circumstances should still feel as though they can talk about the good and bad so they don’t start believing that there voice isn’t as important and that is also a key thing to remember.

Additionally, when adults listen to children's perspectives, it promotes better communication and understanding within the family or care setting. This can lead to stronger relationships and a more supportive environment. It also allows parents and practitioners to make informed decisions that consider the child's needs and preferences, ultimately supporting their development and well-being.

Overall, parent/carer engagement makes a supportive area for that child to learn where they can get involved and share their ideas.
