YASU: Phew... I feel like the weight on my shoulders has just been lifted. All those things I was keeping to myself..
YASU: Anyway, see you tomorrow, Shin.
SHIN: S-See you.
{Yasu starts walking forward, and eventually, he fades away.}
SHIN: ...
SHIN: (Well, it isn't really a secret anymore.)

{Yasu then turns into a big cat, and catches her on his back.}
MINAKO: Wah-!
MINAKO: Oh, wow.. You're so big.. And soft too..
{Minako gets off.}
MINAKO: So cute!
{Minako pets the big cat.}
YASU: A-Am I really that cute?
{Yasu then turns back into normal.}
MINAKO: W-Well.. Fine, then. I-I'll believe you.
YASU: [Yes!]
SHIN: [Can we hurry up before I change my mind?]
YASU: [Okay, okay..]
YASU: Follow me, now.
MINAKO: ...
SHIN: Minako, it's okay. I'm here to protect you if he tries anything.

SHIN: Shoot, I really can't make anything out.
SHIN: But.. It says she's my little sister, which is correct, but.. It says, "little sister of Shin and"...
YASU: T-That's all?
YASU: Then.. There has to be something more to it?
MINAKO: But.. I've always just been with brother..
SHIN: ...
SHIN: I don't know of somebody else. It's always just been me and Minako.. and I've never heard my parents mention somebody else...
YASU: ...
YASU: My mind is going super blank right now..
YASU: Eh? What's this?
YASU: Huh.. Right here, in the bottom right corner of the paper..
MINAKO: It says, "Updated".
MINAKO: It was updated?
SHIN: Then where's the not updated one..?
MINAKO: I can't find it anywhere..
YASU: Neither can I..
YASU: Well.. This was quite the adventure.
SHIN: ...
SHIN: I still can't believe I have powers.. somehow..
YASU: Welp! Don't show anybody your powers, alright? Remember our time at the rooftop~
SHIN: Y-Yeah..
YASU: We'll call this a day. See you guys tomorrow!
SHIN: Sure..
SHIN: (I'll keep this.)
{Shin grabs Minako's file and puts it in his pocket.}
SHIN: Hide your wings now, Minako. We're going home.
MINAKO: O-Okay.
{Shin takes Minako's hand, and they start walking home.}
{In the infected's secret hideout.}
KAEDE: Welcome back, sweetie!
YASU: Hey mom!
KAEDE: You were a little late today, what were you doing?
YASU: (Shoot.. I completely forgot..)
YASU: Uhm.. well.. Hanging out with friends!
KAEDE: My, you're really having fun, aren't you?
YASU: Mhm..
KAEDE: They must be really nice people.
YASU: Yeah, they are!
KAEDE: That's good to hear.
YASU: Well, mama, I'll be in my room now!
KAEDE: Okay, goodnight~
{Yasu enters his room.}
YASU: Ugh...!! There was more to it..? Who the hell is collecting info about Minako...? I'm pretty sure that can't be where all this started.. And Shin's powers...
YASU: My braincells are snapping.. I'll just rest..
{As soon as Yasu falls onto his bed, he drifts into deep sleep.}

{The next day.}
SHIN: Let's go, Minako.
MINAKO: Mhm!
KURO: Hey guys!
SHIN: Hey, Kuro.
KURO: So, what's up?
SHIN: Huh?
KURO: What's up? You... didn't reply to my texts yesterday.
SHIN: Oh, sorry. I guess my phone was silent..
KURO: Meh, it's fine.
SHIN: What did you want to talk about?
KURO: Oh! Nah, it's nothin'.
SHIN: ..?
KURO: So, how's my best girl doin'?
MINAKO: I'm great!
KURO: Not decaying, or anything?
MINAKO: Aha, what are you saying?
KURO: Heh, I'm just messing around!
MINAKO: Bleh~! I'm a zombie~!
KURO: Oh no~!
MINAKO: Haha!
{At school.}
YASU: Hey guys!!
KURO: Hey man!
YASU: [Hey, remember~]
KURO: [Yeah, yeah.. keep quiet.]
SHIN: (...?)
MINAKO: Hey, Yasu!
YASU: Hey Mina! You're cute as ever~
MINAKO: E-Eh..?
KURO: Anyway...
{Kuro and Yasu (beside each other) suddenly turn around facing Shin and Minako.}
SHIN: Eh?
{Then, the two of them separate to create a space in between them..}
MINAKO: Ah! Felix!
FELIX: H-Hey guys..
SHIN: Hey Felix!
YASU: Tada~! It's Felix!
KURO: Welcome back, man!
FELIX: I've finally felt better, after an eternity.. I missed you guys' silly faces.
KURO: Heh, we do too!

SHIN: Huh..
SHIN: (In here, she's four years old..)
SHIN: ...?
SHIN: (When did we take this photo of her?)
SHIN: (I don't remember.. but it doesn't seem like she's in the house.. or anywhere we went to.. Where is this place?)
YASU: The thing that you were talking about.. The updated file, that said "Little sister of Shin and"... That part isn't included here.
SHIN: ...?
SHIN: Then, in the updated file, why is it only included there?
YASU: I have no idea. But, there's probably no way to know now.
SHIN: ...
YASU: ...
{The two looked at each other for a moment.}
YASU: So.. I just wanna talk for a little bit..
SHIN: Talk?
YASU: Uhm, yeah.. just talk. About something.
SHIN: Okay..
{Shin opens the window and lets Yasu in.}

{The next day..}
SHIN: Mh...
SHIN: Eh?
{Shin opens his eyes to see...}
{Oh? Yasu.}
SHIN: Kh...!
SHIN: (W-We must've fallen asleep when we were talking last night...)
SHIN: Ugh... Yasu, wake up!
YASU: Hm...?
MINAKO: Brother? Are you awake yet?
YASU: Where am I...?
SHIN: S-Shut up!
{Shin hides Yasu under the blankets.}
{Minako opens the door.}
SHIN: A-Aha, I just woke up.
MINAKO: Oh okay.. Uhm, sorry for not knocking..
SHIN: Oh no, it's okay Minako.
MINAKO: I-I'll go out now..
{Minako closes the door.}
{Shin lets out a sigh of relief.}
{Shin takes the blanket off Yasu, and sees Yasu in his cat form, looking rather traumatized. Shin doesn't say anything as he picks Yasu up and places him on the windowsill.}
{Yasu quickly jumps off the roof and runs across the road, and Shin closes the window.}

{At school..}
SHIN: Hey, Rei, Felix.
FELIX: Hey Shin! What's up? Me and Rei were just talking.
REI: Hey.
KURO: It's nice that Rei's friends with us now.
SHIN: Minako! Where are you off to?
MINAKO: Sorry brother, gotta go!
{Minako hugs Shin and heads to her classroom.}
KURO: Wonder where she's off to.
SHIN: She probably needs to do something.
YASU: Hey guys! What's up-
YASU: Oh.. hey, Shin.
SHIN: H-Hey.
{The two awkwardly look at each other.}
KURO: Hey man! What's up?
YASU: Meh, nothing worth mentioning.
{In class.}
MS. MERA: I'm sure you've already heard, but you guys are gonna go on a little school trip two days in the future! Isn't that just exciting?
SHIN: (School trip.. without Minako. Pretty sure she'll do just fine.. right?)

{The day of the school trip.}
SHIN: See you, Minako.
MINAKO: Good luck, brother!
{Shin hugs Minako.}
SHIN: Hey, I'm worried about you, okay? Don't go with somebody you don't know.
MINAKO: Okay..
SHIN: You're more precious than my own life. I don't want to lose you again. I love you, Minako.
MINAKO: I love you too!
{Minako buries her face into Shin's chest.}
MINAKO: Mh..
{They slowly let go of each other.}
SHIN: Well.. see you.
MINAKO: I promise to take good care of myself!
{In the school bus.}
MS. MERA: Okay students! Are you excited?!
{Yasu and Shin sit beside each other.}
YASU: Ah yes.. two days away from hell.
SHIN: And what's up with you?
YASU: Too many things to do. Too many things to keep in mind.. too many things to worry about..
SHIN: Too many things to keep in mind?
YASU: Ugh.. I was literally on the verge of telling my secret again.. I was just so offended! Cats can do many things you know!! I'm a cat myself!!
SHIN: What happened anyway?
YASU: This guy I was talking to yesterday.. he told me that cats can't do shit! I was so offended.. I wanted to tell him what I can do to scare him..
SHIN: I-I see..
YASU: You aren't like that, are you?
SHIN: Well.. I know what you can do.
YASU: Good. I would've ripped your head off to show you.
SHIN: ...
KURO: Heya Shin! Me and Rei at the back here.
REI: Hey.
SHIN: Hey guys.
FELIX: At the side!
SHIN: Glad you're coming along with us now, Felix.
FELIX: Yeah.. I'm glad too. Just hope I don't get sick at the place..
{At their destination.}
KURO: I feel that breeze brush through my hair bro.. feels refreshing.
FELIX: I know right? It's been a while since I've been outside. I've just been stuck in my room all day.. the air suffocated me.
YASU: Can't wait to build my own sand fort!
AIMI {NPC}: Come on! Let's go change and get into the water!
HINAWARI: Just wait, will you?
AIHARA {NPC}: Hurry! I need to change into something sexy to show off to the boys~
AIMI: Ha! Wait for me, girl!
HINAWARI: See you, Shin.
SHIN: See ya.
{Later into the afternoon.}
SHIN: Hey, Hinawari.
HINAWARI: Hey. So.. how are you?
{Hinawari was dressed in her purple flower bikini. She brought along a notebook and a pen for her notes.}
SHIN: I'm good. It feels great to take a break like this once in a while.
HINAWARI: Mhm. I'm just doing my newspaper notes. Observing everything and.. well, you know.
SHIN: Still working on something to report on.
HINAWARI: Yep. There might be some things I can report here. Don't wanna start rushing on notes once we get back from the trip.
HINAWARI: Oh, also, I might take some pictures too around here. Newspapers always come with pictures. But.. I'll do that a little later. I'd still have to get my camera from the rooms.
SHIN: What are you gonna write about?
HINAWARI: Well.. honestly, I have no idea. Maybe just some info about beaches and stuff.
AIMI: Hey Hinawari! Come get a dip!
{The girls splash a bit of water on Hinawari.}
HINAWARI: Ugh, be careful! If you'd have splashed some on my notes, I would've killed you!
YASU: Eh! Don't splash on me!
AIHARA: Come down here, girl!
AIMI: It's gonna be lots of fun~!
HINAWARI: Fine, fine. I'm coming.
SHIN: Why are you avoiding the water so much?
YASU: Well... C-Cats despise water! I know that water doesn't corrode your skin, but.. My cat senses tell me that the water's secretly acid!
SHIN: I-I see.. so that's why cats hate water so much..
YASU: It's secretly toxic.. I don't wanna go near it.. L-Look at the way it glows!!
SHIN: That's just because the sun's light is reflecting on it..
YASU: I know.. it's just my cat senses.. M-Maybe you should go.. maybe hang out with Kuro and Rei over there in the water..
SHIN: Alright then.. Well, see you I guess.
YASU: Yeah... I'll just be busy building my sand fort.
{In the water.}
SHIN: Hey guys.
KURO: Hey Shin- Hey!!
{Kuro and Rei splash water at each other.}
FELIX: Hey guys.. decided to join in the fun!
KURO: Aha! Hey Felix! Just don't stay in the water for too long, ight man? You might get a cold.
FELIX: Yeah.. thanks.
REI: Take that!
KURO: Take it back!
FELIX: Ahaha...
SHIN: My turn!
FELIX: Me next!
{The four of them had fun in the water for a while..}
KURO: Okay, okay, that's it.. I'm tired. Ahaha!
REI: By the way.. where's Yasu?
SHIN: Oh uh.. too busy with his sandcastle.
FELIX: Aha..
SHIN: Hey uh, I'll go check on him.
KURO: Alright. See ya Shin!
SHIN: Yasu? Where are you?
SHIN: (I can't see him anywhere...)
SHIN: (Eh? What's this place behind here?)
{Shin enters a hidden place behind the trees..}
SHIN: Yasu?
SHIN: (An unfinished sandcastle.. but where's Yasu?)
SHIN: (Eh?)
{Yasu's tie floats atop the water.}
SHIN: ..?
SHIN: Yasu..?
{Shin steps closer to the water.}
{Shin reaches for the tie, when suddenly..}
SHIN: Eh?
SHIN: A-Ahh!!
{A hand emerges from the water and grabs Shin's hand, and starts pulling him underwater.}
SHIN: Mh!! Mh!!!
{Shin struggles while trying to get free of its grasp. His shouts for help don't reach anybody's ears as it is muffled by the water.}

{He gets dragged deeper and deeper into the water.. and eventually, Shin loses his consciousness..}

SHIN: (What is this room? Seems like they hated Yasu..)
SHIN: (This room has all his photos.. Eh? What's this?)
{Shin takes a random photo off the wall and takes a closer look at it.}
SHIN: (Aww.. is this Yasu's baby picture? But.. who's the other one?)
{In the picture, there was another baby boy next to Yasu. The boy looked very similar to Yasu. Their faces looked a bit similar. But, the boy's hair was the natural brown color.}
SHIN: (Maybe I should keep this..)
{Shin puts the picture in his jacket's pocket.}
SHIN: Okay.. Yasu.. I need to look for Yasu..

{Meanwhile, at the surface..}
HINAWARI: Hey, has anybody seen Shin?

FELIX: No.. we haven't seen him. He said that he was..
KURO: He said that he was gonna check on Yasu.. but it's already been hours.
FELIX: It's already dark.
HINAWARI: ...
HINAWARI: Did you see where he went?
KURO: Well.. he went over there.. I think.
FELIX: Eh? No, he went over there.
REI: Are you guys blind? He went over there!
KURO: What? No, I swear I saw him go there!
FELIX: I'm pretty sure I'm the one who's right!
{The three of them start fighting. Their argument just keeps going back and forth.}
HINAWARI: ...
HINAWARI: (I'll probably just search for them myself.)

{Back underwater..}
SHIN: HELP ME!!
SIREN: SHHHAAAAA!!!
SHIN: I CAN'T USE MY POWERS...!! HELP!! AHAHH...!!
SHIN: DOOR! DOOR!
{Shin quickly enters the room and blocks the door.}
SIREN: GET OUT OF THERE!
SHIN: Pant, pant
SHIN: Exit.. exit.. I need to look for an exit..
SHIN: (There's a small hole in the wall.. I could probably fit in there..)
{As Shin hurries while crawling through the hole, the siren starts pounding harder and harder on the door, until it finally decides to give up and leave.}
{Suddenly, Shin stops crawling to a familiar voice.}
YASU: Pant, pant
YASU: I'm losing my mind.. I miss Shin...
SHIN: (Yasu?)
SHIN: Yasu! Are you there?!
YASU: Shin? W-Where are you?
SHIN: I'm in a hole in the wall!
YASU: Shin.. I can't use my powers..
SHIN: Hold on.. I'm coming!
YASU: Wait Shin! Don't-
SHIN: What-
SHIN: ..!
{The door suddenly opens, and Shin stops crawling to listen. Yasu becomes hypnotized and starts following and obeying the siren.}
YASU: Wait.. I don't want to leave. I-I... I wanna stay here with you.
SIREN: Don't worry, you're not leaving.
SHIN: (Yasu..!!)
{Shin starts pounding on his hand as he can't do anything to help Yasu.}
SHIN: Kh..!!
{Yasu and the siren leave the room.}
SHIN: (I have to follow them.)

{Shin makes it through the hole and starts looking for Yasu and the siren.}
SHIN: (Where did they go..?)
SHIN: Eh?
{Shin feels a presence pass by behind him, and turns around to check.}
SHIN: (I swear I felt something just now.)
???: {In a faint, distant voice} Help us..
SHIN: (I hear faint whispering.. Where is it coming from?)
{Shin follows the voice.. It leads him to an enormous room.}
SHIN: (This room is quite big.. If I'm not mistaken, this must be where the whispering's coming from.)
???: Are you a victim too?
SHIN: Wah!
{Shin then sees a bunch of ghosts around him.}
???: Oh our apologies, we did not mean to frighten.
SHIN: Who are you ghosts?
???: Ah well.. We don't quite remember anymore, I'm afraid.
???: We've been down here for like, years dude. Just floating away.. everywhere.
SHIN: I-I see..
???: Are you like us too? Just.. not dead?
SHIN: Uh.. yeah. I'm stuck here. I'm actually looking for my friend that fell victim to the sirens..
???: My, how unfortunate. Perhaps, we may be able to help you? What'd your friend look like?
SHIN: Uhm.. He's one of the infected.. he has cat ears and a tail.
???: One of the infected? Infected by what? Is there some sort of plague goin on on the surface?
SHIN: Ah.. I see.. You don't know anything about it..
???: What's happening?
SHIN: Uhm so.. he has light-brown hair.. and a green jacket. Kind of like what I'm wearing right now.
???: Oh, that gentleman? Why yes, perhaps we may have seen your dear friend. He was being lead by one of the sirens.. Unfortunately, our voices couldn't reach him.
SHIN: Did you see which way he went?
???: He went that way.. that horrid way.
SHIN: Horrid way?
???: Most of us were brought there to meet our demise. That room.. is not a very pleasant room.
???: Hurry along now, you must save your friend before it is too late.
{Just as Shin was about to leave..}
???: Hey now.. just hold on a second.
SHIN: Eh?
???: Now that we've done what you've asked.. wouldn't you do something in return? Like, free us from this pit of hell-
???: My, my.. let the boy go. We're already gone, his friend still has a chance.
SHIN: ...
SHIN: It's okay. I'll try to save all of you. As thanks for helping me find my friend.
???: Why.. you are such a sweet boy. Thank you.
SHIN: But first.. I'll find him. So he can help in freeing you guys.
???: Run along now.

{Shin goes to the room they told him where Yasu was, and only opens the door just a crack.}
SHIN: Kh..!
SIREN: Curse you and all of your siblings..
YASU: Seriously.. I.. I don't know what you're talking about.. Just.. cough kill me already if you want to..
SHIN: (Yasu... No no no no... Yasu.. no..)
SHIN: (No.. NO!!)
{Shin is reminded of Minako's death as he watches the siren abuse Yasu.}
SHIN: (No no.. don't leave me.. Not... again...)
SHIN: (Then.. do something about it! Don't just watch! Move! DO SOMETHING!!)
{Shin then breaks a nearby window and picks up one of the glass shards. Shin ignores his bleeding hand and sneaks into the room. Yasu notices him, but Shin gives him a sign to stay quiet.}

{Shin slowly creeps to the siren. Yasu's eyes go back and forth as he keeps looking at Shin. Then when Shin was almost there, the siren sensed him and immediately hypnotized Yasu. Shin leapt at the siren to stab it, and the siren did manage to block it, but Shin was able to surpass the siren's strength as it was quite shocked and the attack was a bit too sudden. Shin was then able to stab the siren in its neck, killing it. Shin stabbed it repeatedly just to make sure that it was dead and it would stay dead. But then, Yasu was still hypnotized, and he pulled out the knife from his pocket and pinned Shin to the floor.}
SHIN: Kh..! Y-Yasu!
YASU: How COULD YOU?!
SHIN: Yasu, snap out of it!
YASU: SHUT UP AND DIE ALREADY!!
SHIN: Yasu, please!
SHIN: (Ah.. wait.. I know what to do.)
{Shin took a moment to calm and regain himself.}
SHIN: Yasu.. please.. Don't do this..
SHIN: I love you..
YASU: Kh..!
{Yasu tried to strike Shin, but Shin dodges the attack and was able to stand up. But then, Yasu pinned Shin to the wall.}
SHIN: Yasu!
YASU: S-S... Screw you!! Stop saying nonsense things that don't make any sense!
SHIN: ...
YASU: Huh?
{For a millisecond, Shin hesitated, but eventually.. Shin suddenly pulled Yasu closer and kissed him.}
YASU: Mh..!
{When Shin let Yasu go, the spell on him broke and the two looked at each other.}
YASU: ...
SHIN: ...
YASU: ...
SHIN: ...
{The two are still processing what happened.}
YASU: Hey uhm.. you know, even though I didn't have any control of myself.. I still heard you.
YASU: I-Is.. Do.. Do you really like me...?
SHIN: Eh..?
{The two gazed at each other and stayed quiet for a moment.}
SHIN: Yeah.. I do.
YASU: R-Really?
SHIN: Mhm..
YASU: I-I..
{Yasu couldn't finish his sentence as he was too embarrassed. His mouth wasn't able to speak the words he wanted to say.}
SHIN: Uhm.. Yasu..
YASU: Y-Yeah..?
SHIN: Let's.. get going. We don't really wanna stay here for too long.
YASU: Yeah.. you're right.
SHIN: Also, there're others waiting for us.
YASU: Others?
SHIN: Yeah.. the other victims that died and couldn't leave.
YASU: I see... so you've actually met them?
SHIN: Yeah.. I asked them if they saw you and they directed me here. They also said that in exchange for helping me, I would also need to help them. I agreed.. and, yeah.
YASU: So, you're saying that we're gonna free them?
SHIN: Exactly.
YASU: Alright then.. let's go..
SHIN: ...
{Shin offers his hand to Yasu.}
SHIN: Let's hold hands?
YASU: E-Eh..? S-Sure..

{The two then walk outside the room to the place where the passed victims were.}
???: Oh, I see that you are back. And, with your dear friend too. I am very glad that you were able to save him. Truly, thank you.
SHIN: No problem..
???: So.. it's time for us to be released.
YASU: Hold on, hold on.. Important question; do you guys wanna pass on or you wanna be revived?
???: Why, it would be a delight to live in this world once again.
???: Hell yeah, bro! I'm frickin' ready, whatever it takes!
YASU: Alright then..
{Yasu takes out a siren's scale that he took from the siren, and uses his powers to release the victims.}
YASU: [This'll brainwash them, by the way. So, as soon as they're released, we're running far away.]
SHIN: [Alright..]
{As soon as the victims were released, Shin and Yasu ran far away from them, holding hands.}
{The two were walking to the exit, when they met a familiar face.}
AKARI: Hey guys!
SHIN: Akari! Hey.
YASU: Aka- wait, you guys know each other?
AKARI: Yup, just today. I helped him a little while ago in finding you. Of course, I was trying to find you as well. Glad that you found Yasu, Shin!
SHIN: Me too.
YASU: Thanks.. for trying to find me. Honestly, I didn't know what I'd do without you, Shin.
SHIN: Eh?
YASU: I couldn't think properly, I was just too.. scared. Only thing I thought of was how I'd get out of this and where you were.
AKARI: Welp, until we meet again, you two! This is my home, so I'll be staying here.
SHIN: I hope I can meet you again, Akari.
YASU: Maybe we can hang out sometime!
AKARI: Aha, that'd be wonderful! I can't wait to see you guys again. I'll see you guys someday!
YASU: See you someday!
SHIN: See you.
YASU: I promise I'll never try to eat another lamprey again!
AKARI: Ahaha...
{The two then made their way to the surface.}

SHIN: Y-Yasu! Hurry!
YASU: E-Eh? W-Wait, you're freaking me out! What is it??
SHIN: It's already dark! The others probably realized that we were gone!
YASU: Oh god.. you're right.
SHIN: Hurry! Let's go to the rooms!

{The two of them go to Shin's room and stay on the bed.}
SHIN: At least we aren't even wet.
YASU: Mhm.. now I have an even bigger reason to despise water.
SHIN: Aha..
YASU: So..
SHIN: ...?
YASU: Thanks for saving me back there, Shin.. They stripped me of my powers.. I was doubtfully hoping that somebody would save me.. Though, I didn't want it to be you because I thought you'd get hurt. Still, though.. I guess you saved me.
SHIN: ...
SHIN: You're welcome.
FELIX: {Coming from outside} Guys, I think I hear Shin and Yasu in the room..
KURO: {Coming from outside} Okay, we'll go check it out then.
SHIN: Here they come.
KURO: Hey, Shin! Bro, where have you been? We were literally looking for you everywhere!
SHIN: I've just been here the whole time.. Aha.. I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys..
YASU: I guess we got a little bit carried away and forgot..
KURO: Nah, nah.. it's fine. It's cool that you two get along well!
