As soon as Defne heard that question she forgot about her dreams  and she raised her hand and said ‘ Mrs Alkan  I want to join .Last year I was in  the Animal Protection Club.This year I can take part in that club' Mrs Alkan read the name of the students that she chose to the Environment Protection Club . ‘ Defne, Alperen, Gizem and Yagız , you all are  new members of the club ’ Gizem raised her hand and asked ‘Who will be the chairman of the club?’ Mrs Alkan said  ‘ Defne will be the chairman and added that ‘Your duty is to write a story of a Daphne Tree with your own words to our club notebook’ the bell rang just at that time.All the students went to their houses.

When Defne arrived  ,her granny had already come home. She hugged and kissed her granny's hands.When Defne told her family about her homework. Her granny said ‘ You know Defne we used to have five daphne trees in our garden’. Defne asked  curiously ‘Granny what happened to your garden?’

Her granny started to tell the  story ‘ Uh Defne …Our trees died. In fact people killed them. Look Defne even the people are the most civilised creatures ,they are the most dangerous ones. Before people were not so much conscious and they were  frying chips and pouring their wasted oils from their sinks. Sometimes people were coming to our garden to make barbecue and we were letting them to have fun there. Once we let them to have picnic in the garden but they did not put  their barbecue fire out. Unfortunately all our daphne trees burnt there. It is really hard for a person to watch all your trees burnt to death.People used to use  only one side of the papers and throw them . Students could not find papers. Once I saw that a person drank the water and threw the bottle into the sea.Can you think of all the people doing the same thing? You know your uncle collects all the garbage around their house and put them in rcycle bins. Of course your uncle is not enough to save all the world.The world was getting polluted and polluted.They started a recycling campaigns.The world is now a bit cleaner.’
  Defne thanked her granny and kissed her hands again.She went straight to her room and finished her homework. As the chairman of the club she started a campaign. First of all they made soaps from wasted oil, they gave second chance to plastic products and redesigned them. They put recycle bins everwhere in their school and warned everyone about it. It was hard but it worths saving the nature. She will try to save as many trees as she can.
