         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Gumisirizah Nicholus was a secondary Physics teacher for 10 years before joining Tertiary Institutions; the National Teacher Colleges (NTCs) in Uganda in October 2014.<br><br></div><div>He is currently a Senior Lecturer, Deputy Dean of Students and a College Mentor at National Teachers’ College, Kabale.<br><br></div><div>Beyond College, he is a coordinator of different activities in NTCs; These include; Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA), Gender Responsive Pedagogy and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (GRP &amp;STEM) and Physics Help Desk Team player on hybrid Education for NTCs.  He is highly motivated to continue teaching and shaping the future of students to increase efficiency, performance and Quality of Education.<br><br></div><div>He  won different prizes at college: Best Action Research at college, (Awarded a Laptop) in 2019; Won TESSA small grant  for sensitizing his colleague staff on use of TESSA OER (Open Educational Resources) in 2018; TESSA impact case study reward 2020; Hackathon competitions e-learning and digital lessons on distance learning in NTCs(Response to Covid-19 aftermath) reward 2020;organized by Ministry of Education and Sports; Teacher Instructor, Education and Training (TIET) and Enabel.<br><br></div><div>He is a certified ATL (Active Teaching Learning) Practitioner and e-citizen with ICDL (international Computer Driving Licence profile certificate.<br><br></div><div>He has attended international conferences; DETA (Distance education and Teachers’ Training in Africa) held   22<sup>nd</sup> -26 August 2017 at University of Rwanda, Kigali and in Nigeria, Faculty of Education and Distance learning Institute of Lagos. University of Lagos. 21<sup>st</sup>- 28<sup>th</sup> July 2019.<br><br></div><div>He has developed his career from a Diploma (Physics/Mathematics), Bachelors Degree of Education (Physics/Mathematics) of Kyambogo University, Degree of Master of Science in Physics;(MSC-Physics) of Mbarara University and Technology and is currently Pursuing a PhD by Research in Physics Education (ACEITLMS), College of Education, University of Rwanda; Rukara Campus. His dream is to become a professor of Physics.<br><br></div>]]></description>
