In 2017, a guy was playing PoGo when Hurricane Irma was happening. He decided he would go and play the game right before the storm hit his area. This wasn't Niantic's fault, it was the guy's fault for thinking it was a smart idea to go and catch Pokemon in the middle of a hurricane. Niantic has put some qualities in the game that makes it safe. Some people mentioned that they live right by a dead zone, so it was hard for them to play the game. Dead Zones don't allow Pokemon to spawn which makes the game near impossible to play. But now there are a lot of alerts Niantic uses, for example "Do not play PoGo while driving", and "do not enter dangerous areas while playing PoGo." Niantic wants people to stay alert and not to play PoGo while driving, because they want you to be safe. You might think how does this help the situation, the answer to the situation is that they warn you to be safe.
