Culture can have a strong influence on development, values, behavior and even beliefs' think my cultural values and beliefs which I learned have affected my self-esteem and even my interaction with other individuals and my performance in school. I think because culture consists of shared interpretation about values, beliefs, and norms it can affect how you relate to peer groups who share the same values as you, It provides us with predictability in human interactions in our daily lives and a basis to form expectations about others and even about ourselves.

Culture has indeed an effect on who we become. It might affect us positively or negatively. I was brought up by my grandparents who never believed in children asking questions about the cultural philosophy that was imposed on us. Even when something didn't make sense, you were not allowed to question it because questioning your elders about cultural issues, was perceived disrespectful. As I grew up I started asking questions and also not agreeing to cultural things that didn't make sense to me. This affects a lot of us negatively even today, that is why women are sometimes subjected to abuse because culture says that a man is the head of the family and his actions can't be questioned.

It’s interesting Mercy that you were never to question cultural values and norms - this is so often the case!

I can't particularly say I have a specific culture based on the fact that for the past few years I have moved away from the religion my family had taught me and this transition has been difficult. My morals and values have altered ever since I began studying psychology and I think I'm only going to grow further away to what I believe in rather than the culture to which I was raised.
I think culture significantly affects an individual and the way they present themselves and their self-image and self-worth.

Culture has definitely an enormous influence in my life. It defines who I am. It has embedded values, morals, believes and given me a sense of identity. I was raised by very conservative parents who believed that children should be seen and heard. When elders visited I was told to go play in your room or play out side. I was not allowed in adult company or else I was asked if I wanted to count how many teeth they had in their mouths. I was never allowed to question elders because it was disrespectful.

My culture did influence my behavior during adolescent. This is because in my culture it is highly compulsory for one to go to initiation school. With initiation school they are expectations the one must meet when they are in their adolescent stage

Culture influences a persons' identity because it comes from deep within them in terms of their value systems and what they stand for. Personally for me, my family has not been very cultural instead they were more focused on Christianity so growing up I did not have things like my environment influencing the type of person I become that just came with my belief system.

I was not raised under any particular cultural rules and norms. The only time I was exposed to cultural practices was during funerals and weddings. Religion, Catholic, had more of an influence on me than culture. It influenced how I spent my time, church classes, choir practices and mass on Sundays. I attended because it was expected of me, not because I believed.

My culture has given me the values I believe in but has also been tied to my self-consciousness throughout most of my life. Religious wise and heritage wise, the biggest influence was felt before adolescence, when I struggled to relate to others because of our differences. For majority of my adolescence I didn't really make an effort to connect with my culture (heritage) and would keep it private except for obvious identifiers. It was only from my late adolescence did I become more open to expressing it and myself.

My parents are both half Christian and half Jewish, I was taught many things about both culture. I struggled a lot to understand both cultures because the was a lot of rules, values and beliefs that I needed to follow.
