Over a year ago George Floyd was killed by a police because fo his race. A couple weeks ago the police man that killed George Floyd was proven guilty. 
George Floyds death opens a lot of peoples eyes. Colombia is where my parents i from and not only that most of my family lives there. Lately citizens of Colombia are tired of the pandemic and the unemployment. Citizens of Colombia have been hosting a bunch of riots and protests.

Now at age 18 going to the best engineering school in Colombia is now sharing us how she feels about our family.

How do you feel about the coronavirus? 

Daniela: I feel scared. I have been in quarantine for over a year.  I do not know what is going to happen, I never went through an epidemic so I feel unprepared. What I am most scared about is that in Colombia labor workers get to work again, so I am scared that the virus is going to spread faster then it already has.
What was your reaction when you first heard about it? 

When I first heard about it, I thought it was going to stay in china and not spread to Colombia, I am not going to suffer the horror. I never thought it was going to reach this level of  complexity. Now I feel like it is something real, and that it's happening.

How does the Coronavirus affect the way you work in a good way?

My normal classes have been easier because my teachers put videos and I am able to pause the video and take notes a lot slower and easier. Another advantage of the videos is that I can repeat them. Classes are also an hour and a half but with the videos I am able to have a class for 20-30 minutes. I also feel like I have less work because I do not have to drive for one hour to my college and back from my house. Overall school has been easier for me. 

How does the Coronavirus affect the way you work in a bad way? 

One of the bad things about online schooling is working in groups. It is really hard to make everyone agree. I think us working in groups is not productive. I believe we work better when we see each other in person. Especially when my teacher assigns random groups and it is strange to work with someone you do not know and do not have contact.

We have been quarantining for more than a year, we have been wearing a mask over a year. Although my 7th grade year was cut short I have been enjoying quarantine more than I thought. During the summer I spent most of my time playing video games (yes such a waste of time) but during the school year I was exploring new hobbies and being more aware of what's going around me. Not only that but I have changed a lot since 7th grade. I was always on my ipad not noticing what's going on around me and not hanging out with my sister. But during quarantine I am closer with my sister, my family, I have been more outside, i rode my bike more, I painted. I definitely took a nice cleanse from my ipad and now I am happier than I was in 7th grade.

I finished my vocab test and I saw the news notification talking about the new pandemic ONLY in china. At first I didn't think much of it, only “I feel bad,” “I am so grateful that's not happening here.” But after a couple of weeks it reached the United States and every country in the world and it became THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC and killed thousands of people. 
I might have overreacted about covid-19 but the world underacted. Everyone was sent home from school on March 13th 2021 because of the Coronavirus but that didn't stop everyone from going to the beach, not wearing their mask, and hanging out in large groups clearly they didn't react as they should have, they didn't react the way I did.

I was so excited putting on long sleeves clothes on my plain black suit case and my paintings i made for my family and putting in my favorite fancy outfits in my suitcase to have great dinner with my grandma. Yes that sounded like the perfect family trip until i got sent home. We were hesitant on canceling but we were scared that we might be in Colombia forever and that we might travel covid-19 to my grandparents. Thankfully its been over a year and no one in my family got covid and everyone but the 14 year olds got the covid vaccine. Now I get to see my family during the summer!
