I decided I wanted to try an use maker. They were very hard to use. The marker was hard to blend but when I added the pencil to it, it looked a lot better. I wanted the girl to look sorta realistic but it ended up looking cartoonish. I think if I did not do cross hatching it would have helped it look more realistic. It was very weird doing this project in marker. But I actually enjoyed it, it made me feel like a child again, I may try and do some more in those marker. I felt like those were good because as someone with an exacting disorder no matter how skinny you are it will never be enough and eventually you will die if you get to thin. And I know for me personally I and always looking for new ways to loss weight so I felt like the weight loss tips really made that clear, however I did not like how the lettering turned out. I added article titles along the sides of it that are basically like steps and guides to having a perfect kids. I didn’t want to mess it up but I also knew that it needed something added to it. I decided to add cracks on the ground. Originally I was going to make it look like glass shattered but I felt like that would not have fit the message I was trying to get across. Once I made the earth cracking I did not know how I was going to fill it in. I was planning on leaving it blank but I felt like that would have been really boring, so then I figured mine as well do it in pointillism to fit the rest of the drawing. For the most part I like how it turned out. I had a lot of ideas but when I tried them in pencil I did not like how they turned out. Eventually I ended up going with Anderson’s ideas. When I started drawing the additions I did know if I should do them also in pointillism but I figured it would look a little weird if I didn’t. When I was adding the shh I didn’t want to just do normal writing, I knew it needed a little something extra to make it stand out and look like it fit in with the message. So I went over the shh in different directions to make it look a little sloppy but in a good way. I decided to add a knife, for more depth to the meaning. However I do not really care for how it turned out. It was hard to get the knife to look a certain way I wanted it to look. I think I needed to angle it a little more to show more depth and contour in the piece. This coming week I am starting a new piece. I want to do something with match’s and flames. I am not quite sure what media I am going to do it in. I think I want to try acrylic but I may end up doing it in water color. No matter what those both will challenge me a lot because it is very hard for me to layer things to make them look realistic and not so cartoon like. I plan on continuing painting and adding layers to show details and depth in the painting. I want to finishe the painting by the end of the week. I am having a hard time coming up with what the monster or shadow should look like or be. I decided to add more things to the background of my world melting. I added lots of guns drugs and things that are just going wrong with the world. I decided to add a hint of color to the police tape, I feel like that was a good addition. The little pop of color helps draw you eyes to everything in the picture. I am happy with how it looks, I however don’t know if there is anything else I should add to it. I am thinking of having a girl crying. However the tears running down her face aren’t going to be normal tears. I am thinking of doing them in watercolor. I also think it would be cool to do the tears in shades of red. I believe that the red will show emotion and pain the girl is going through. The girl is supposed to symbolize me and the red tears I am hoping to have will add the detailing of finally giving up with all the crap and trauma I have experienced. It was really hard to figure out how to do the hair but I managed to get some hair done and then it came to me and I was able to finish it. I decided on red water color tears. Watercolor in general is hard for me but I think it turned out cool and really added a nice touch to the piece. I finished it up today and am ready to turn it in. I am stuck on what my next project will be tho.
