Apart from that, they also had to communicate in Japanese. <strong>This source tells us the lives of teenagers in Singapore is hard as they had to go through a tough time learning a different language.The evidence is the Nippon-go lessons in newspapers during the Japanese <br><br>Change-</strong>This is a change as before the Japanese Occupation, schools such as Catholic High School taught students in English and Chinese.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Time period: During the war<br>Source type:Written<br>Aspect:British as Superior<br>Where is the source from: Museum<br>Source-</strong>The evidence is "No one expected the war. I mean, the British had made it out that they are a powerful nation. And despite the fact that the Japanese had already occupied both Indochina,and parts of China, no one for a moment thought that the Japanese would really attack. We thought that it was just a blutt".<strong>This source tells me that teenagers thought their lives will be safe as they thought British were superior but British were surrended to the Japanese. The teenagers have been betrayed by the British.</strong><br><strong>Change-</strong> British was no longer superior to the teenagers.</div>]]></description>

Or if not, they would be punished.</strong> The evidence is 'In 1941, it was compulsory for all non-military residents of Singapore to carry identity cards under the Defence (Security Registration) Regulations.'<br><strong>Change-</strong> They did not have identity cards before the war.</div>]]></description>
