I will be staying in Oranjestad, towards the north of Aruba. It is also the capital This spot provides easy access to various beaches across Aruba, and is a beautiful vacation spot with good climate. Oranjestad is a huge tourism spot for Aruba, it draws in thousands upon thousands of people per year. Santa Cruz is it's own region. It is a region of Aruba. People may perceive that Oranjestad is just a tourist trap, but it is more than that. It has character. It is full of beautiful beaches you can't find anywhere else, and the town there is beautiful. It is a pleasure to walk around in and view all the various customs and traditions developed in

Oranjestad is a city with (as of 2010) 29,998 residents. That is not as big as some of the metropolises you see in America, but it is different than America. It is not about the factories, or sky scrapers. It is about the people and the land surrounding it. Aruba is not a super rich country either, I wouldn't classify it as a "third-world country" but it is a great tourism spot and thousands flock here each year to get their fair share of paradise.

As you can see in the video above is very packed, and it appears almost as cramped. As you can see, unlike America there are a lot of old cars here. Yeah in America there are older cars, but in here you don't see any new flashy cars. The environment is different here, how people do things, their customs, etc. In terms of spatial interaction, people here deal with it the best they can. There isn't a ton of space. The city does look a little old, since it was built around Fort Zoutman in 1796, and isn't updated with modern amenities like other cities have across the globe. When it comes to distance decay, the city is very cramped so the that the spatial interaction is affected due to the size of the city. It is not as big as most cities, therefore people have less city space to work with and drive through. Well, as I said there is less room, so in terms of the the friction of distance, people are forced to communicate more, due tot he space limitations.
