This Spanish horror, sci-fi thriller, follows the story of a man who voluntarily enrolls himself in a prison where an unknown numebr of cells are stacked on top of each other. With 2 inmates per cell, they have 2 minutes to feed on whatever food contents are on a platform that floats down from the top of the prison. The setting of this movie is bleak and gives a sense of hopelessness with a twist of psychological torture. With these elements playing back and forth throughout the movie, I believe the ending ties in perfectly with it. It wasn't a typical action film. Initially there were bad reviews on the plot, saying it did not fit their expectations. However I found the plot fitting, not something mainstream. The color grading of this film enhanced the whole experience, all the framing and placing of the camera angle was well thought of and it really got me thinking after the film ended !

This film talks about a witch, Kiki. As part of her tradition, by the age of thirteen, she left her hometown along with her cat Jiji to find another town to call home. This film touches mainly on the theme of maturing. After leaving her hometown, Kiki was required to live independently so she helped out the bakery with delivering goods in order to repay the elder couple for letting her stay at their bakery. This film also shows us that failure is an inevitable part of growing up, and that we should never give up. I really like this film as it not only teaches life lessons, but it is a fun animated film that one can watch at any time of the day. The cinematography is also well drawn and the sceneries shown in this film are really pretty.

Although the Blind Side talks about football, it is not really considered as a sports film. As it falls under a inspirational film which focuses on family values. 

The movie inspires us as it touches the heart of the audiences on how the white woman plays an instrumental role in Michael's success. On the other side, the part where the film portrays on the imbalance of the society, leaves us questioning both towards the society and ourselves.

I love the colour grading of this film as it brings the coolness to this film as it was supposed to be.

A thriller/crime film about a young couple who started robbing gas station, convenient stores and banks because they had no money while wanting to travel to Hollywood. The only reason they continued to keep robbing was because Arielle (the main actress) was growing on followers on her Instagram because people liked her content that she was putting up of Dean (the main actor) and herself robbing. All Arielle cared about was to get famous and because she was, that was her motivation to keep robbing.

This shows that social media creates a huge impact on an individual that you would do anything to get famous.

It's a really really sad story. I never dare to rewatch the film, the film is too sad to the point that you will not cry watching this film but it'll make you speechless and start questioning yourself. I watch this film last year and it just makes my heart sink to the bottom. 

It brings out the horror of war and it'll make you appreciate you life you're having right now. The film shows the POV of two kids trying to survive in war. They struggle to find food and a place to live. They have to avoid the bombs and have to get food from their neighbours when none of them is willing to help them. There was not a climax throughout the whole film, but when both the kids leave the world with a smile on their face really broke my heart.

An emotionally impactful, meaningful, and an extremely eye-pleasing film. This is one of the films that I still remember vividly because I was so emotionally linked to the storyline, I couldn't get over the movie for three days straight and I felt so complicated.

I think the amazing acting skills from the actors contributed largely to the emotional impact it had on me, as they were natural, as if the characters were real and breathing in front of me. The colour grading, as well as the compositions Luca Guadagnino (the director) used complimented the timeline and background of the story very well, portraying the summers in Northern Italy in the 1980s. 

This film caused me to reflect a lot on LGBTQ+ topics, and it was definitely eye-opening for me. I've learnt to respect love and and human relationships among people through this film. Plus point, the OSTs in the film were SO GOOD.
