Before we started this chapter I knew how to create equivalent fractions. I did not know the reasoning behind the math. I knew the concept of common denominators and that we could then compare the fractions to determine if they were equivalent or not.
Section 2C
The most frustrating part about this piece of work was the vocabulary. It was hard to use the right wording to explain the lesson to the audience.
Section 3A
I did my work similarly to other students. It was the first math cast and I think most of my classmates used the same illustrations and vocabulary methods to explain the material. The only thing that was different from other students is that theirs was a little more colorful and relatable to the audience.
Section 4C
In the next revision of this math cast I would practice my wording a little more. I would also like to take more time to make the math cast more interesting and appealing to the students.

After this math cast and the lesson in class I was able to better explain why addition made sense. I could explain the base-ten system and show different methods to easily solve the equation.
Section 2A
I liked this math cast more than others because I had a little more of an idea of the explanations behind the math. I liked that there were more methods to use to solve the addition problems. There wasn't much I didn't like in this lesson. I felt confident talking about this material.
Section 3B
If I were a teacher I would notice the way the speaker was talking about the material. I would mention that there is always room for improvement and to always be careful with vocabulary.
Section 4F
One thing I would like to improve upon is the theme of the math cast. I think in order to improve on this topic I need to review the vocabulary and practice on other problems. I think reviewing this material and the explanations behind the math will help me get better.
Section 2D
After seeing my work I learned that I as a learner don't really pay attention to the little details. This can either make or break me as a great teacher and I really want to work on that before I start teaching. I don't want to teach students the wrong methods.
Section 3C
I would've given the grade that was lower than what I was given. I personally feel like this wasn't my best work. I didn't know the material and wasn't really sure what words and vocabulary to use for my intended audience.

My name is Tameka and I'm 20 years old. I was born in Hawaii and thanks to the military I was lucky to grow up in Northern New York. I am recently married to my husband ,Xavier ,and will be moving to North Carolina. 
 Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to be a teacher. However, because my family is mainly in medical professions I started to get my degree to become a doctor. I remember the day I completely changed my mind and asked myself why I was going to be a doctor. I then drove by a school bus and that day I changed my major. The thought of helping young children learn and grow into young adults makes me excited. They will need new teachers to help make the transition into the new educational system and although I may not be ready yet one day I will be.
 After this semester I am transferring to Liberty University and I was obtain my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in May of 2019. I personally think the most important mathematical concept I learned in this course is the base-ten system. I think this because everything can be traced back to it. Whether it be addition, subtraction, multiplication, or dividing. They all use the base-ten system and without understanding that it is hard to understand why we take the certain steps in these problems the way we do. Without this knowledge we would just be following the steps because we were told to just like i was taught in elementary school.
2. I think the most important non-mathematical concept i learned this semester was the background of all math. I can now explain math to others. I know why we do certain steps in math problems instead of just doing them because i was told to.
3. I think the math cast were extremely helpful. I wish we had to do more. Maybe not the whole lesson, but mini ones like we did with one question for homework. I also really liked the group work, it allowed me to understand all the different types of thought processes and know that thinking outside of the box is not wrong and everyone approaches problems differently.
4. I didn't really like the idea of the concept books. I found myself distracted by them during the test. I tried to use it as little as possible because I really wanted to know the information and material without help.
