The information this article is displaying is relevant to my argument because it provides side effects, risks, and benefits to using social media. The people who posted it are Smart Social, but they draw from other sources, such as Psycom, and the Child Mind Institute, whose articles you may see on here as well. This information supports my claim by listing the dangers of social media, as well as linking some studies with the information to back it up. The purpose of the information sited is to display how many ill affects there are to social media.

This article was posted on 6/19/19. The article in question is relevant to my claim because it lists ways that social media has hurt mental health. The article was posted by Thrive Global, a site devoted to "increasing potential" and helping those with mental illness. This article supports my claim due to the ugly side of social media usage it presents. The purpose of this article is to try and persuade people to limit social media usage.

This article was posted on 5/30/17. The information in this article is relevant to my claim due to the multiple studies and claims that were used to determine if social media was good for people. The people responsible for this article is Forbes, a journalism website that tackles a large range of topics, social media risks being one of their more prevalent ones. The information that this article provides supports my claim that social media is not good for children, whose minds' are still developing, because of the scientific evidence they link. The purpose of this evidence is to try and spread the message that social media isn't as safe as it seems.

This article was updated 11/12/20. The information you discover in this article is relevant to my claim because it lists the ways social media provides a threat to children. This article is slightly different, as it discusses more physical threats to people(youth especially.), as most discuss the mental illness threat. This article was posted by THE Healthy, a website devoted to good health, mental and physical. The information in this article supports my claim by discussing the infinite risk of; predators, hackers, scammers etc. The purpose of this information is to inform people what they may be getting into by using social media.

This article was posted on 3/27/20. This article is relevant to my claim because it shows how easier life can be with social media, especially in a time like this, where everyone feels apart. The people who posted this article is Tech Xplore, a website made to answer all of your technology-based needs. This evidence disagrees with my claim, saying that more students should have access to social media. While the positives displayed in this article are founded and they raise good points, I believe that social media has become even more toxic, as people being pent up for a extended period of time causes lots of bottled anger. Which results in them to putting down other people online as they can do it anonymously. The purpose of this information is to show that social media can still be good at connecting people, which was the goal of early social media. Overall, social media can be good for many people, but children are bound to make mistakes, and social media is not a good place to dwell, as many will judge you on the decisions that you make.

It was made by Common Sense education, an organisation devoted to helping parents understand social media, and also helping children with online learning. This information is supports my claim by trying to prevent children from oversharing, and putting themselves in danger on social media. The purpose of this information is to show kids how much their social media can hurt them.
