This must be developed with references from scholarly articles. In connection with that there were two extracts of Student A and B were given as an example to analyze the standard in academic writing.

The video clip clearly explains the Literature Review which helps to assess and identify the articles needed for the research.

This session increased my knowledge of the importance of reading journal articles and created interest to improve my academic writing. This has also given me the idea that after completion of the article, reading aloud, and checking the needed corrections are important to improvise academic writing.

The key factor I picked up was the importance of the Literature Review.

At the beginning part of the fifth session, we were asked to share our understanding of the previous class. Professor Marie told us to recollect our previous knowledge of traditional schools of philosophy and she introduced the topic of Teacher Identity, as she asked us to put down our thoughts on Identity. This session was mostly interactive.

As I reflected, I found that our teaching is based on Essentialism because we use the lecture method of teaching to acquire skills, the learning environment is according to the task and the assessment is with objective and subjective questions.

It helped me to reflect in my context that, the teacher’s identity is mostly based on the compulsion of how much the teacher can produce good results. On the contrary, we fail to see the forming of the person. It’s a built-up system in Tamil Nadu.

The key point which I pick up is that critical incidents make the person reflect and act appropriately.
