PAST CONTINUOUS

The "past continuous" describes actions or events located in a time before the present, which begins in the past and has not yet concluded at the time of speaking. In other words, it expresses an incomplete or unfinished action of the past.

Note: with the verbs that are not usually conjugated in "past continuous", the "simple past" is normally used.

The "past continuous" of any verb is composed of two parts: the past of the verb "to be" (was / were) and the root of the main verb + ing

PAST TENSE

Example (positive):
To perform an affirmative sentence this structure will be followed and the verb will be in its past tense

Question form

In the interrogative form the auxiliary will be first followed by the personal pronoun and here the verb is in present and finally the complement is added

Negative form

In the negative form it begins with the word NO, then the pronoun and then we will put the auxiliary (did not), at the end the complement

SIMPLE PAST
