This shows that the Nazi's fed the Jews like they were animals. They only got soup and bread. This shows that if Elie's father didn't lie about his age he would have been cremated which is dehumanization because humans are killing other humans.

This shows humans beating up other humans, but in the other peoples case Elie's father was pretty much dead and they were giving him rations even though he was about to die.

Overall the world has more good than bad, but all we see is the bad because all over the news I would say 1 out of 50 stories are about a good thing. The world is getting worse and worse as the years go on whether it be terrorists or robbers all people can be good and evil it just depends how one grows up and who they surround themselves with. If you surround yourself with bad people that rubs off on you and you can become bad, but if you surround yourself with good people you will most likely turn out good. A wise person once said, "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future." (-Mark Novacek) I totally 100% agree with that because things rub off on people. So back to the question is humankind inherently good or evil. For example in the United States of America, African Americans couldn't were being killed by the KKK (Klu Klux Klan) just because they had different colored skin than the rest of us.
