The overall tone colour changes throughout the piece, it begins contrasting between the low, resonant drum and metallic, sparkling triangle, becomes more complimenting when the sandy, dry snare drum blends with the woody, clear idiophone to create a unified overall tone colour and a relaxed, playful, character.
Link to character not the clearest. Maybe needs some more here but strong links, descriptions and use of TC words.

The tone colour of the idiophones which are metallic and dry create a character that replicates an ominous and mysterious mood.

I don't know about 'replicates' here. Creates? Here you've mentioned only one thing that = the mood. Try to have more than one or else it's a bit like saying it's happy because it's major! That's not enough on its own.

By the woody idiophones coming in at "random" times it gives an element of surprise and adrenalin to the character of the music. Each percussive element from the cymbals to the mambranophones (snare drums) create contrasting tone colours to emphasise the chaotic and eerie mood and potentially create a sense of tempestuous aggression.

You're a little vague here. You need to nail down specific instruments, specific techniques, specific links. Yes it changes but list from what to what. You're missing out on a chance for points here.

The contrast between the high sounding idiophones (piercing and clear bells) and the lower sounding idiophones and membranophones (Resonant and rich drums) essentially juxtapose each other and stand out to highlight the uncomfortable mood of this piece. The overall tone colour does not seem to change

Really??? I thought it changed constantly from one extreme to another.

but instead more instruments are added throughout the piece that in turn accents the aggressive nature of this piece. Some expressive elements are used to intensify the tone colours of each instrument like dynamics, staccato and articulations.

Great!! But too vague/general. Nail down which influences which.

The more resonant tone colours blend homogeneously and allow the more shrill and piercing tone colours to stand out.

Love this description. Try to make it more specific.

Another opportunity missed. :-(

It goes from feeling ominous to instantly feeling a fair bit lighter and calm whilst still keeping the feeling of suspense.

How?

Within the opening, the sounds of the low bass drum roll alongside the suspended cymbal creates a very strong, rumbling, resonant sound.

Maybe use a few tone colour words before each of these then mention the TC of their combination.

The shaker and brushes that come after immediately change the feel, becoming duller and sandier, before the opening instruments come in again with their specific tone colours.

Unchanged?

The opening siren, though not an aerophone, was overly nasal, as though it were imitating a cow.

A cow? Really?? Sophisticated much?

The overall tone colour changes frequently, often between a low, rumbling timbre and a high, dull, sandy timbre.

Great. I'd nail these down to specific egs and instruments.

There are few instances where a resonant low timbre is juxtaposed with a high, metallic instrument eg. the bass drum and the chimes/hand cymbals.
The bongos, which are usually quite resonant, are played with hard mallets wrapped in felt, creating a short, dull, almost 'covered' timbre.

Try to use 2 x TC words. Sometimes good mention of influences, sometimes not so much.

The turned off snare

Side drum?

also adds to the dull tone colour. Going back to the snare, shaker and bongo creates a playful, frantic feeling, mostly due to the odd tone colours.

Great work. Just missing clear connections to Character which need to be dotted throughout in order to answer the question.

The piece begins with a dry, woody membranophone that is polarised through the use of the deeper, booming timpani. The rapidity of the rolling percussion creates tension that continues to build through introduction of the swelling and diminishing aerophone siren sound and the clear, ringing cymbals. As this continues to build, a sharp, clear bell sound is used to further escalate the rising tension. This tone colour is then rapidly juxtaposed through the abrupt suspension of the previous instruments and the introduction of mellower, warm tones such as the hollow, woody sound of the bongo and the sandy, rustling sound of the snare. Later, the

Jessie this is great! Influences need to be emphasised more but I love the use of the word 'polarised' to describe the extremes.

There is a very wide range of percussion instruments in this piece, from very deep, broad drums to piercing hits. This broad range means that there is a natural variation in tone colour throughout the piece. The sirens and snares create an abrasive militaristic feel and penetrate the deep tones of the timpani.

A good summary. Just need to have more tone colour words. Linking the siren and the snare left a chance for you to say much more.

The primary tone colour seems to alternate between a deep, dark tone and a bright sharp one.
Link these to specific instruments, link to character and give more than one tone colour word per instrument.
