Mesopotamian created all kinds of inventions but one of the most important things they created was writing. Made by the Sumerians. Their writing was called cuneiform. They used cuneiform to communicate information about crops, taxes, records, and to pass on ideas. This is very key to our lifestyle because in the 1700’s and 1800’s all they used was letters to communicate because they didn’t have phones.

Back then people chose to live in a place with major rivers nearby. Some of these major rivers were Tigris river and the Euphrates river this area was in Mesopotamia. There's also cities called city states. These cities often went to war to gain more land. They also had their own government. So if a city state had a lot of land then that probably meant they have won a lot of battles and have a strong army. They also tried to live near river valleys. They lived near river valleys because there was good farming conditions. It was also easier to feed larger numbers of people.
