I chose to become a nurse during high school. Since my adolescence I was already chose my future. In my family there is my aunt who is a nurse, who works with infants. She is very proud of her job and she is very polite with everyone. She always told me about her profession, influenced my decision. Furthermore i was hospitalized when i was 9 and from this experience i learned that this job is very important for me.

In the nursing sector there are different grades with different tasks and pay. During the years the nurse can grow up in the rank thanks to their experience. One night a mother arrived in the hospital in an ambulance with her one month old son. The child did not breathe because during the night he had inhaled his regurgitation; so it was an emergency. My tutor and I immediately alerted the resuscitator and the medical and nursing team for emergency management. We took the child to the emergency room where all the material was ready to try and save his life. Each within the team had a different role to allow monitoring of the child’s vital signs, place venous access, administer medication, defibrillate and massage the patient. Despite several attempts to revive the child, he continued to be in respiratory and cardiac arrest; there was nothing more to do. My tutor and I begin to assess the patient’s brain death by performing a 20-minute ECG.
