         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>INTRODUCTION</strong></div><div>In the era of information, the elderly population is increasing more as their lifestyle improved with advancement of technology. However, this might cause serious issue concerning their health condition. Various treatment especially physiotherapy is crucial for the elderly to have in order to maintain their health condition.<br><br></div><div><strong>THE SCOPE OF AREA OF RESEARCH<br></strong>To improve the welfare of the elderly with the friendly-use physiotherapy guidance system.<br><br></div><div><strong>PROBLEM STATEMENT</strong></div><div>As the need of physiotherapy becomes important for elderly, they are required to perform the therapy exercise at home as well. Without the proper knowledge and guidance on physiotherapy, elderly who perform the exercise by themselves at home might have the risks of injuring part of their body. Consequently, the injured part will become worsen and takes even longer time to recovery. Thus, it is very important to extinguish these problems by providing necessarily solution to guide and motivate the elderly to perform physiotherapy at home.<br><br></div><div><strong>MOTIVATION FACTOR</strong></div><div>With the NFC technologies that played a role in the daily life, we decided to implement the use of NFC to create a friendly and easy solution for the elderly to use at home. An Android application is created from smartphone where the contents in the apps can be playback through Raspberry Pi. The contents like video exercises can be control with the use of NFC tags on the smartphone allowing the elderly to exercise at bigger screen.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>CRITICAL REVIEW</strong></div><div>Existing solutions such as video-conference, video tapes and personalized exercise trainer are ways to provide proper guidance to the elderly. However, these solutions may not be friendly application for elderly to use. As for video-conference, it lacks of instructors to teach when there are too many patients in need of physiotherapy in one day. As for video tapes, it needs the use of videotapes player to play the exercises where elderly find it difficult to replay back video. As for personalized exercise trainer, the mode guide system requires the elderly to wear an array of sensors such that it can evaluate the motion of elderly. These sensors will limit the movement plus bring discomfort to the elderly as they need to wear them. <br><br><strong>THE ACHIEVEMENT</strong><br>Our goal is to enable the elderly to obtain the guidance on how to perform the physiotherapy with ease by introducing an easy-to-use physiotherapy exercise guidance system through the usage of the smartphone application and NFC tags. <br><br><strong>THE METHODOLOGY<br></strong>A smartphone, NFC and Raspberry Pi are used in developing the application for elderly use. An Android apps is created where it can control the playback of video of physiotherapy with smartphone. With smartphone integrated to Raspberry Pi as well utilize NFC technology, elderly can scan the NFC tags to allow video to be play through bigger screen with ease.</div>]]></description>
