We saw in class that it is important to communicate the CSR implementation, it "doesn't matter" if Canon is doing it as a marketing strategy, as long as using it as way the company is doing it.
We also discussed that not every company put a lot of effort investing in CSR area because it is expensive and complicated and if Canon. So i think its okay to Canon inform and put an effort to it.

In the video, we saw that fund raisings and and charity programs is not considered CSR, they are "tools" as part of communication process. I think Canon is doing it as a way of marketing to call people to action and know its philosophy. I think is good that they are communicating EVERYTHING they are doing.

Canon say that they are applying ‘living and working together for the common good" as a philosophy and its CSR strategy is the implementation of this philosophy. I can understand that is a trendy philosophy around Japan but i don't understand the real impact: are they looking for the common good of human right of their employees?

Canon is applying the first step in the video of PRACTICAL PERSPECTIVE of develop a mission statement. It is important to inform since the beginning to inform the social purpose of the company activity. If cannon in their statement are informing the contribution that they want to accomplish through its business and what bad practices are unacceptable for the company, they are applying a good CSR strategy.
