         <description><![CDATA[<div>There were not great elements to it. He was born to a poorer Siberian family in Tyumen. The village they lived in was one of the many that believed Vodka would solve extreme cold. Rasputin was a delinquent because he committed petty crimes, drank heavily as a non-adult, and was someone the village viewed as cruel hearted even. He didn't learn how to read and write until he was an adult. Although some members of the village saw him as spiritually gifted.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After being married and having 3 children, Rasputin had set out on a journey for about 24 months and eventually came to St.Petersburg in 1903, he was welcomed by Theophan who worked at the religious academy of St. Petersburg. He was welcomed because he fit the “box” of interest of the St. Petersburg people who were generally looking into the mystical, spiritual, &amp; unknown supernatural people and experiences at the time.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

But some aristocrats, as well as the bourgeoisie deposed him for the same reason as the others, he was becoming too powerful of an influential and disruptive figure on the Tsars family and creating a new image of them as well. He ended up surviving that as well so they viciously beat and shot him even more. He then also lived through that o they threw him in a freezing river.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>No one, at least at the time was absolutely certain of what kind of man he was but many suspected and accused him of many affairs with women. Including one with the Tsarina, as well as bigger accusations like rape, pedophilia, and being a drunkard. Rasputin also had alcohol issues, mostly spending his personal money on it constantly. He presented himself as holy and a man of the church but many did view him as the “antichrist”, so its safer to say he would be cruel.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Why did you choose this topic?</div><div>J: Because I was interested in knowing more about how Rasputin became known in Russia before the Tsars knew them.</div><div>V: I was interested in it because I really like the Anastasia movie</div><div>What did you think about this topic going into it?</div><div>J: I thoughtat first that he was just an advisor of some kind that was slightly controversial.</div><div>V: I thought it was interesting how he’s pretty different from the Anastasia movie character</div><div>&nbsp;What did you learn about this topic?</div><div>J:&nbsp; I learned that Rasputin was far more manipulative than I thought because he also had befriended the Tsar and not just the Tsarian, meaning he used both of them for political influence.&nbsp;</div><div>V: I learned that he did a lot of other bad things along with having his followers be assigned government jobs while having no experience to have those positions</div><div>How did your learning change your thoughts on the topic?</div><div>J: It changed how I viewed the killers of Rasputin, now I understand why they would at least not want a guy like him around.</div><div>V: It changed how I saw the urgency of Nicholas II and the Russian people not wanting him there</div><div>What did you enjoy about your topic and the technology you chose to use?</div><div>J: I enjoyed getting to organize the sections of information around.</div><div>V: I liked how easy it was to set up and figure out</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
