This is my first composition on Logic Pro and I was so excited to make it! I was heavily inspired by Vaporwave and Japanese Future Funk. I tried to keep a theme of ambience throughout. No name for this composition as of yet. Enjoy

Funkalicious by Christopher Golebiowski

In this piece, the artist is depicting an astronaut holding a boombox. I think that this is a metaphor for the "out of this world" feeling that the genre of funk, synth, and other 80s genres. I think the mood of this piece is enthusiastic, almost getting into the music so much you lose yourself "in space." The rainbows shooting around the astronaut contrasting the dark background is like light and peace in a time of darkness.

Pictures at an Exhibition (Bydlo)

The movement I chose to write about is the movement Bydlo. The image shown is a monotone landscape with a rather sad looking cow pulling a cart along. The cow looks sickly and weak. The song sounds like a sad march at first, but grows into different emotions. In the middle, it has a section where it sounds almost hopeful, and then directly after it becomes angry, and then sad again. This makes me imagine the cow is sad about living this life of dreary work, and gives me an "Animal Farm" vibe. The marching sounds are the cows footsteps, like he is being watched to keep working. The hopeful section is the cow thinking maybe there is a way out of this, and is immediately followed by anger at the realization that he will never be able to. He becomes sad and the music slows. The piece ends.

This composition is in aabb'cb"dee'e" (I know, it's a lot.) The whole piece is major. I tried to make the movement almost syncopated, like how space men bounce in zero gravity. I have already posted my composition before writing this post, but I knew it was ready when I added the touches of other-worldly synth pads.
