Thank you Paul for being such a supporting facilitator ,before I started the race I was too confused about the whole concept and was worried that how will I implement it in my subject but after reaching the finish line I am more confident and I advice my rest of the faculty also to take online training for their subject as this will remove all the doubts what they have . Once I start with the IB business management I would like to go for 2nd level of training.Paul can I, as a subject teacher clear my doubts by mailing you.

Given the incredible amount of work that I must do every week for work and my studies, I thought that the workshop was one more item on my "plate." However, as the weeks passed along, instead of considering a challenge, I was eager to enter the workshop, see what was posted, the requirements, submit my posts, and read the feedback and comments on mine. Thank you Paul for your valuable input, guidance, and patience!!! I have the same question with Radhika... Can we be e-mailing you if we run across challenges or dead-ends? Thank you again for all you did for me and for us!!! I feel more confident about the IB, thanks to you!!!

Thank you Paul for such informative and well structured training session. I must admit having a 3 week old baby and getting 4 different classes one being IB this year has been overwhelming, but after finishing this workshop I I definitely feel a bit better prepared to teach the class and have a more clear vision of expectations for myself and my students. I am sure as with any class, I will refine my teaching of B&M as I gain more experience in the subject and IB program.
My next step is to finish my year long pacing guide for this year and start planning year 2. My biggest concern is honestly still the pacing and and making sure I allocate enough time for each unit where there is still time left for review, IA and case study practice. In my school also HL and SL students are in the same class, so finding ways to differentiate the teaching between the two groups is another challenge I aim to tackle next. Thank you again Paul for all your input and advise and thank you for being open about further communications shall the questions come up.

I found the workshop to be very demanding and time consuming but also very informative. There is a lot I am still confused and unsure about and being the only BM teacher in my school I am concerned about doing things wrong. I think I would have preferred a longer course but with less demands. The course seems interesting and I love the idea of moving away from teacher led learning and empowering students to take responsibility for their learning. I have learned a lot about assessment and thanks to one experienced and very helpful team member in my group for week 3 I have a plan to work from and an offer for someone to call on for help which is great. Doing this course has highlighted that I have a lot to do in terms of planning and learning so my next step is work on my plan in advance of our verification visit in November. Thank you all for your help and tips!

I came to the workshop knowing a little of IB BM but not enough to differentiate it from A-level. Recent changes to A-level have brought it more towards the BM model. I particularly like the concept approach; case study work on Apple and BP have already appeared in my teaching. Like others I worry about the allocation of time within the schemes of work. I also feel guilt in that my 3 lessons BM lessons so far have seen me talking too much, something of 'a sage on the stage' still. My students are SL and I do think it is a shame they will miss out on the interesting topics in HL only. I am pleased that the workshop contents will not disappear straight away. Finally, is there a text book that you would recommend?

This workshop made many points much clearer and the discussions were very helpful to understand the spirit of the BM in IB. It made also the organization of the course and the way it should be delivered more friendly.

I realize also that this first year is going to be heavy in planning preparation and following up on students while jumping several times to the OCC. I hope it is not going to be as stressful as I am imagining and that the teaching experience will be as interesting as the learning one.

Maybe this workshop or the following ones could be presented earlier in time in order not to conflict with teaching since it is very time consuming and it was hard to be able to teach and complete the activities at the same time.

Thank you for facilitating this workshop Paul.

Thank you Paul for being a fantastic work shop leader. When I started with my training I was very much confused and there was a lot of hesitation that how to start and how I will go through all these things. But your help and other member’s support made it quite easier for me to complete it. This training was very informative and it clarified many doubts regarding planning of topics (i.e. module three) and the teaching process. I loved to communicate with all the colleagues. I learnt a lot from this workshop, actually this training cleared my views and concepts about IB and made me much more confident about my approach to IB, how to access teaching resources, using them and also how to assess them. This training made the task of IB teaching somehow easier as it was not earlier.

As the workshop is coming to an end it creates a feeling of continuing regular communication and discussion with our group members belonging to different countries and cultures. This is a way to learn a small concept in a broader sense.

Can we communicate with each other and with you also Paul regularly and exchange our views and ideas about different topics of BM ? In this way we can enhance our knowledge.

Thank you everyone for your support and help throughout this training program.

I came into this workshop feeling a little overwhelmed with IB. However, having worked with others and being guided through the guide i feel confident that I can certainly take on this task. Working with others really opened my eyes to different perspectives on business. Some final thoughts are about how to engage students in different ways, and really reflect on my own teaching to see if it's culturally sound.
