We need to keep the strength and weaknesses of each sex in mind and design our curriculum so to engage both sexes. As teachers it's good to challenge ourselves to make different and diverse lesson plans so it keeps the students engaged. This could be designing an assignment that revolves around numbers to play to the strengths of males or design an assignment that involves lecturing which plays to strengths of females. This of course has exceptions.

I believe that we should know the strengths based on evolution, which is nature. However, we should understand nurture. While men are quicker on the trigger due to a larger amygdala, we should challenge them by having discussions that have them draw on morality and emotions. This will develop their weaknesses into strengths. For females, we should seek to include lessons that include using muscle memory and the physical skills. This will allow them to develop. We should not be complacent with nature, but instead should work hard to nurture growth within the classroom.

The understanding of how evolution has shaped the brain will affect how I design lessons. I think that it's always important to consider how the brain impacts learning. However, I also think it's important to hold students of both genders to high standards even in areas that their brains are not necessarily made for. As teachers, I don't think that we can say, "She's a girl, so she won't be good at math." As teachers, we must recognize the differences in male and female brains and instead work to ensure that these differences do not hinder either gender's learning in any area.
