In the United States, once you lose a job, such as I, due to Covid-19 or any other reasons, you lose your Healthcare benefits as well. This pertains to employees who work with companies that pay half of the healthcare benefits. If you cannot afford to pay for insurance on your own, you do not have access to Healthcare. You are forced to make a trip to the emergency room to seek medical care, and then pay the medical costs later. Programs such as St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House charities work hard to provide care to children fighting cancer. Adequate Healthcare would be beneficial to all Americans.

Health insurance is a huge problem in America today. There should be a more simple and less expensive way for anyone to get on health insurance. While not having health insurance you are paying a large amount of money towards co-pay and expenses. While not being able to go to the hospital and get the treatment you need causes more illness and adds to more health problems than we already have today. This need is very important because we are able to get individuals to get the treatment they need with no expensive fees and would not always have to rely on their job benefits to help.

Until two decades ago, the main indicators of the health status of the Iraqi people were improving substantially and health care services were achieving high standards. However, the regime which ruled Iraq during the last three decades did not consider health a priority; the health system, therefore, suffered from progressive neglect and budgetary allocations did not reflect population needs. As a result, health indicators fell to levels comparable to some of the least developed countries. Highly competent and experienced professionals left the country and serious gaps developed in the provision of health services. The decline was exacerbated by major wars, disastrous military adventures, and political and economic sanctions. The country currently faces enormous health challenges. This document describes one of the initial steps in our mission to address these challenges and rebuild the health system. It provides a brief description of the health situation and assesses current trends; it also establishes a baseline for rehabilitation efforts, identifies the key priorities for reconstruction, and offers strategies and a rationale for immediate action. The views and strategies outlined in this document are based on the analysis of the current situation in Iraq and discussions with a large number of Ministry of Health officials and staff as well as members of the Advisory Committees who represent the leaders of the health professions in Iraq. The proposed short- and medium-term strategies were also discussed with partners, including UN agencies, the World Bank, and major donors in a seminar organised in Amman, Jordan in July 2004. The situation analysis and strategies were subsequently subjected to extensive discussion, during the "National Conference on the Current Health Situation and Future Strategies" organised by the Ministry of Health from 30-31 August 2004. The conclusions and recommendations of the National Conference, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, were discussed again and finalised in a meeting organised on 16 September 2004 and attended by key MOH officials in Baghdad and the governorates as well as a large number of experts in public health and clinical specialities.

The explosions in both Dhi Qar and Baghdad are tragedies result of decades of corruption and mismanagement by successive governments. Moreover, if the reaction to the previous explosion gives any indication, there will not be substantial changes to the status quo.

Many people globally need access to better and cheaper healthcare. With everything going on and the pandemic, it should be a priority right now but it only seems to get higher and higher only making it worse for those who can’t afford it. Health care is treated and given as an option and not a necessity in my opinion. I definitely have to put off certain health related things being that I have no insurance and can’t afford going to the doctor when needed because doctors charges thousands just to look at you. Just think of how many lives could have been saved it health care was more affordable.

Ravand
Iraq is confronted with large scale public fitness troubles that have been resulting from the destruction to their infrastructure during the Gulf conflict. Humanitarian useful resource is wanted on the way to avoid a big scale human catastrophe. In 1988 seventy three% of Iraq's population lived in city regions. The loss of electrical producing potential has affected hospitals, water purification and sewage treatment. Iraq had made exceptional strides int he health of their people with an infant mortality price of 42/one thousand in 1990 and 52./a thousand for kids beneath 5. The global study group's survey of over 9000 households found out unexpected evidence of substantial persistent malnutrition. Based on accepted mortality as a baseline, records indicates that mortality amongst Iraqi infants and kids beneath five doubled in 1991. The modern-day food ration presents simplest half of the power requirement and with swiftly accelerating inflation, the price of meals at the same time as best make the situation worse. The UN Disaster Relief Office has received $1.059 billion from donor nations; but, only half of of the requested $14 million has been funded through Unicef. This cash is needed to meet fundamental necessities for water, sanitation, antibiotics, and vaccines. The UN Security Council accepted resolutions 706 and 712 which could have allowed Iraq to sell $1.6 billion for foodstuffs, drug treatments, and substances and resources important to civilian needs situation to monitoring and supervision to make sure equitable distribution. The Iraqi authorities has now not met the necessities of 706 and 712 because of the tracking conditions, so no money has been issued. More cash is needed if humanitarian businesses are to do their work. Only $29 million of the $a hundred forty five million needed for the 1st half of this year has been pledged.

The medical crisis that’s aggravating Iraq’s unrest

Nalin fahmi Hassan

BASRA, Iraq - On the walls of Basra children’s cancer hospital hang photos of some of the youngsters who’ve been treated there. Most are smiling. Some of the portraits have a black stripe in the upper left corner. Those are pictures of children who passed away.

Hesham Abdullah says he quit his office job to care for his son Mostafa, 14, and sold his house and all the family’s valuables to pay for treatment. With no medical insurance, he estimates he has spent at least $120,000 on black market medicines and trips to overseas clinics. His family of five had to move in with his brother.
“It’s worth it. I’d sleep in the street in return for a pain-free moment for him,” said Abdullah. “But this is not something any individual can afford. This is something the state should handle.”

Iraq’s healthcare system is in crisis. There’s a shortage of drugs and the medical staff to administer them. Doctors are fleeing in their thousands, and life expectancy and child mortality rates are far below average for the region. This year, a new threat has emerged: across the border in Iran, coronavirus has killed scores of people and infected many more, including a deputy health minister, prompting the Iraqi government to close the frontier. Iraq reported its first cases in recent days.

To understand the collapse of Iraq’s healthcare, Reuters spoke to dozens of doctors, patients, officials and private investors and analyzed government and World Health Organization data. The story that emerges is complex. Over the past three decades the country has been ravaged - by war and U.N. sanctions, by sectarian conflict and the rise of Islamic State. Yet even in times of relative stability, Iraq has missed opportunities to expand and rebuild its healthcare system.

For example in 2019, a year of relative peace, the government allocated just 2.5% of the state’s $106.5 billion budget to its health ministry, a fraction of spending elsewhere in the Middle East. By comparison, security forces received 18% and the oil ministry 13.5%. Over the past decade, data from the World Health Organization shows, Iraq’s central government has consistently spent far less per capita on healthcare than its much poorer neighbours - $161 per citizen each year on average, compared to Jordan’s $304 and Lebanon’s $649.

“Health is not a priority and the indicators show that. The government did not give healthcare what it deserves,” Alaa Alwan, Iraq’s health minister, told Reuters in August. Alwan, who has also served in senior roles at the World Health Organization, resigned as minister the following month, after just one year in office, citing insurmountable corruption and threats from people opposed to his reform efforts.

All across the world, people are in need of better access to affordable yet high quality health care. Often times we see an inequitable access to healthcare in our communities, whether that's due to financial status or availability of proper healthcare, or both. Often times we see people neglect their health conditions and concerns simply because they cannot afford treatment without going in debt. People have rationed medications that are essential to their health and well being such as medication for diabetes or lethal allergies, skipped refills, had to bear with painful health concerns due to lack of accessibility. Hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions have to turn to travellin to other countries for medical care, simply because its cheaper than their own countries or has better quality of care.
With accessibility comes quality of care aswell.

However, accessibility is only Accessibility if its inclusive and intersectional. accessibility to proper care for people with disabilities or disorders, whether that is mental or physical, is an aspect of healthcare that can often times be neglected. Often times medical professionals dont know how to properly care for a neurotypical patients and can instead leave the patient traumatised for their way of treatment. Medical professionals are not always trained in how to properly communicate with or approach neurotypical patients, deaf patients, patients with mental disabilities or disorders such as schizophrenia, or even depression, to give them the best care. It can be difficult for medical professionals to care for nonverbal autistic patients who prefer not to be touched. Often times this can trigger a person with autism and can result in very traumatic responses such as strapping an autistic patient down in order to care for them.

Nobody should have to neglect their health because they cant afford treatment. Nor should anyone be concerned with the quality of treatment they receive, whether thats because of their financial status, social class or mental and physical conditions.

Intersectional accessibility is an issue often times neglected and should be addressed more.

Healthcare expense is a big problem that occurs in the world. If healthcare was less expensive I think that more people would get help. I hear from multiple people that they do not go to the doctor due to the amount of bills that they will receive. Healthcare insurance is expensive as well. People who work at certain jobs such as warehouses have insurance offered to them at a decent price and some could even get their families added on to the insurance through the job. With insurance, more bills will be paid from the hospital. But if medical bills are not paid it will go into collections and ruin ones credit.
