Los dos programas que analizamos en clase de los programas 90/10 y 50/50 dan la oportunidad de que un estudiante pueda llegar a ser bilingüe al terminar el programa. El 90/10 da la oportunidad de que la clase sea enseñada 90% en español y el 10% en ingles. Es importante notar que la porción en ingles no tiene instrucción formal hasta el tercer grado, de esta manera el estudiante esta recibiendo instrucción en todas las materias solo en español. 
En el 50/50 mantiene la habilidad del programa de enseñar en los dos lenguajes para mantener un balance en el progreso de los dos idiomas. Este programa requiere buena planificación para no repetir lo que se enseña en los dos idiomas.

Some Spanish-specific benefits are that the students in 90/10 programs have a higher proficiency than students in 50/50 programs. Decoding text is easier in Spanish because orthography is more consistent in pronunciation and spelling, which is easier when it comes to translanguaging.

As we had mentioned in past discussions, there are some parents who may be concerned that their student may not master English if they are placed in Two-Way Immersion Programs. However, as we read and talked about today, these programs allow for content and literacy to be taught in both languages. As a matter of fact, research showed that students are still successful and master English and Spanish by the end of the program. This really emphasizes how someone's native language can be beneficial and does not need to be stripped away to master English.

Both the 90/10 and 50/50 programs are great programs that can benefit the students' education. Both of these programs have their pros and cons but the program that I believe stands out most is the 90/10 program because this program allows students the opportunity to be able to adapt to the language easier. I like that the 90/10 program is something that they start since kinder and they keep growing with throughout the years.
