the behaviourism teaching theory is based around brain function and stimulation.

The brain stimulation occurs based around the environment the dancer is in. dance can have an effect upon neurological development and increases serotonin the natural hormone your body produces this as your feeling of love for the environment and surroundings that increase motivation

An example of this is the effects of dance with people who suffer with an incurable health or physical health condition where they begin with feeling ' judged, ignored or devalued'(ADA, 2014) and being apart of movement class allows you to express not in words but through movement as though your brain can use the look of body language it can process how the person is feeling.

The after feeling from movement being used as therapy, once motivation has kicked in from the environmental invitation into the freedom of space and they are able to be actively present in the moment and in themselves.

Cognitive behavioural theory focuses on the structural part of the brain and how people work based around different activities such as "students who believe they "don't like to read" will find reading more difficult, and students who believe they are "good at art" will try harder and enjoy art more."(Wichita State University, n.d.)

This teaching theory concentrates on the hippocampus as this part of your neurological development which includes the memory and develops overtime to which we all use daily to adapt to the person own ability and enhances later on in life.

Through processing information which in this type 'acknowledge the information it is retaining'(2024 neurological services) this also determines how information is processed and received based on how developed the cortex and sub-cortex is as these two parts of the brain that obtain, process and execute how fast it is for someone to understand the instruction and or information is given.

This theory contains more free learning strategies which allows the individual to think more creatively for themselves and explore different ways of moving within a class. Humanism also allows an individual to gain more independence and gain more confidence within themselves . This theory also gives individuals a chance to grow within themselves and grows the ability for someone to connect internally with their mind and body combined (Cloke,Jun 25 2024)

Once I am aware of the age group i am delivering to I will begin to do research on the specific age group and through the research I will analyse which teaching methods I can use in my class as all students learn in different ways and I would adapt my approach in two - three different ways to ensure that all pupils understand the information they are receiving

Week 5

In this class we looked at Psychological well being in a dance environment and how dance connects with your mental and physical well-being and how the environment a person is in dictates the type of mood someone will be in. An example of this is how your brain is able to see and analyse someones body language and know how the other is feeling.

An example as to how dance can be used to help boost someone's motivational drive show through a theory on how dance is used as therapy, once motivation has kicked in from the environmental invitation into the freedom of space and they are able to be actively present in the moment and in themselves, (ADA,2014).

This made me feel very aware of the benefits that dance can have on a persons psychological well-being and how it releases natural healthy hormones that are a signal of enjoyment within your surroundings. This also made me feel like I am able to take on the information and apply it to my own practice and change the way of entering a studio space in a different way of thinking how to approach the class at hand.

I will include this in my class by applying all of the very informational research and to be aware of the studio environment the students are going to enter and the class begins before they enter the studio. I will ensure that all students that are attending my class if unable to do a phrase or certain movements that there will be an adapted version and if students do not feel comfortable as though they are also able to chose the adapted version also. I will express to the students that if they want to then do what they feel they need. This option is always a choice as you would like your class to feel comfortable doing what they feel is best for themselves without having the feeling of judgement towards them.
