I would say that Australia is most likely in Stage 3 because it has many middle aged people and children and is most likely experiencing moderate growth. An issue that might face Australia is when all those middle aged people eventually become elderly and that would greatly increase the dependency ratio of the country.

Immigration since World War II has transformed Australian society

and population. Many residents of Australia are immigrants or are

the children of immigrants. More than one-fifth of Australians were

born overseas (23 percent). In addition, 19 percent of those born in

Australia have at least one parent who was born overseas. Between

1945 and 2000, most of Australia's population

increase (59 percent of the increase from 7.4 million to 19.1 million)

has come from immigration. Australia is likely to become very diverse,

with immigrants continuing to change Australia's society and economy.

Emigration from the country has not been drastic because Australia is a

developed country so a lot of the resources and things people need are already at an arms length.

Migrate to Australia – for the Australian Economy:
To be sure, one of the key drivers of economic growth in Australia is the Chinese economy. With growth in China tending to stay at a healthy rate of around 7% to 8%, the shape of the Australian economy continues to be “pretty”, as stated by the global chairman of UBS.

Migrate to Australia – and Work in Australia:
With a positive economy comes another positive in terms of Australian migration – jobs in Australia. The consumer confidence is up there alright, the mining industry is booming, and Australia needs skilled workforce to fill up the positions. The implication is that you could be in for some good times as long as your profession is in line with the occupations in demand in Australia

Migrate to Australia with a positive Migration Policy:
For one, there is a good deal of demand for skilled professionals to make the cut in Australia. When the industry demands, the government listens – and responds. Migration policy in Australia has evolved over many years, with the first federal migration portfolio having come into force as early as in 1945. The current policy that drives Australian immigration stresses on diversity and a multicultural society. Which is a major pull factor

Migrate to Australia for a Comfortable Lifestyle:
The weather, coupled with the beautiful beaches and the warm waters, the outstanding natural beauty of Australia marked by its mountain ranges and national parks, and numerous opportunities to explore outdoors without being bogged down by oppressive climatic conditions, are reasons why people are coming to Australia.

Migrate to Australia with a straight forward Visa System:
The Australia visa has been streamlined of late to make the system work like a dream. The year 2012 saw some major revamps in Australia visa and in the way the country dealt with migration to Australia. And the end result has been rather satisfactory for the vast majority of people who have been clear about their move to Australia. While the Australian border controls have been tough, if you are on the right professional track, you could very well make the move to Australia and experience what life has to offer down under.
