No, Class 4 students should not return to the classrooms next month. Nor should anyone in Barbados where the virus is still to peak. Children tend to suffer badly with the virus and Barbados does not know enough as science is an ever-expanding, moving body. Physical distancing might be impossible with young students. Do teachers pick them up when they fall? Should they bring lunch boxes but not pencil cases? All of this has to be decided in little time.

No, they should not be going to school next month for various reasons. One of them being that children neglect to take safety precautions seriously. Many of them don't understand the seriousness of this time. In addition most of the time many of them like to play and interact with each other. Therefore some may violate the safety measures just to do so. Then they have to back home to their families not knowing if they are carrying the virus. I say this because children can carry without even realizing. Therefore this can cause the virus to spread profusely again throughout the island.

I disagree with the decision of the government. This is because these are young children that are returning to a normal classroom setting. The students may not take the necessary precautions needed to be taken to prevent the spread of the virus. I think the ministry should take this time to find an alternative solution that they can use in the future.

I stand with those who think that opening schools is not such a great idea. Although many children may prefer going to physical school, are we really willing to risk many lives? Children are very social humans and will be so elated to see their friends the whole social distancing thing will slip their minds. If you were at home for so long and you saw your closest friend wouldn’t you rush to greet them? At 11 years old I would. So no they should not go back to school.
