The fallacy "Two Wrongs Make a Right" is when a person attempts to justify an action against another person because the other person took or would take the same action against him or her.

This video demonstrates a very good example of "two wrongs make a right" fallacy.
It all begins with her running by and pushing him to the floor. The next day he comes running at her and pushes her to the floor. She exclaims "Why did you do that?" his response being because she had done it first, so he did it to her.

How to avoid this fallacy?

The easiest way to avoid this fallacy is by asking yourself "does retaliating solve the issue?" "If I push him back because he pushed me resolve the issue?"

Two Wrongs REALLY don't make a RIGHT.

I think everyone has had their moments of this fallacy. I've had many of my own until I realized that two wrongs really don't make a right. Even now raising my kids I can see that they have not fully come to comprehend this fallacy. For example just the other day my son and daughter were in midst of a name calling match. I could hear them going back and forth "you poopie head" he shouts to her "no, you're a poopie head!" she shouts back. I enter the room trying to resolve the issue at hand, thinking it has been resolved I walk out and I hear "You see! It's your fault!" he says "No it's not! Its your fault!" she yells back. Now they started a whole new argument going back and forth with each other. They will soon grow up and accept the fact that if someone calls you a "poopie head" and you call them a "poopie head" back no one is right.
