Today, on 19th January 2017, our result for semester 2 to come out. As the result come out, my classmate and I are having tutorial class for chemistry. Truly, we cannot focus at question at all because all of us are worried about the our own result, wether we need to resit or repeat the paper. Sincerely, the final examination for last semester was quite tough for me. Especially Physic and Biology subject because my carry mark was in average, not in the comfortable zone. Meaning that I need to put a lot of effort for my final examination to cover my grade later on. But, Alhamdulillah, my result for last semester was quite good even though I failed to achieved my target. One of my friends was really upset with her result. I tried to comfort her but she still upset and not satisfied with her result. For me, her result was actually good but maybe she was targeting higher than that because she is a really bright student. I hope all of my friends and me can be successful student and achieved our dream together. Whatever it is, I hope all of us can do our best for our third and forth semester to get the fantastic result in the end of our foundation studies as all of my classmate targeting to be a successful Doctor, Physician and Pharmacist. Insya- Allah.

I just finished discussing with all my chemistry project group member about what we gonna do for our project for this semester. We started discussing at 9 and finished at 11. It takes 2 whole hours for us to come out with brilliant ideas for our project. Actually, we already make our first proposal to our respected lecturer. But, sadly our first idea was actually quite common and Madam want us to make something different and unique. The idea was rejected .So, we met at one of our member's house at cramming and storming our brain in other to get the brilliant idea. I am very grateful because all of my team member are all cooperative and all of them come out with such a great idea in order to make our project successful. So, in the end of the meeting, we come out with prefect new idea. All of us can't wait to meet Madam and make a proposal of our new idea. I really hope that our idea will be accepted by our lecturer.

I got some good news from my lecturer in healthcare who assigned us to do some research and thesis about traditional medicine in the last semester. My group has done thesis about aloe vera and unfortunately, something went wrong and our assignment was not being received by our lecturer. So, there is no mark for our group for that thesis which is covered 50 percent for healthcare subject. Our group decided to meet our lecturer and discussed about this matter because it effected our pointer and grade for last semester. Luckily, our lecturer is very considerate and really understanding our situation and problem. Then , he told us to resend the assignment and send him some proved that we already send it before the due date but he was not receiving it. One of use took care the job and all of us hoping that we will get a good grade and mark for our thesis since we put a lot of effort in order to pass this subject without any difficulty.

Today, all of my group member of chemistry's project met our respective madam to make the second proposal for our project. The first proposal was rejected because it is quite common even though it is very interesting . Our first proposal is about children's toy which is handmade and very safe and interesting to play. Not to mention it will safe money because the ingredient to do it is cheaper than we bought the toy directly from the store. We planned to do homemade plasticine which is save if the children accidentally swallowed them, kinetic sand, glow stick and so on. Then, we move on to second proposal which is about survival kit. Fortunately, our madam accepted and approved our second proposal. We were so happy and started thinking on how to do the survival kit in a creative way in order to get a good grade for our final later on.

We should have mentor mentee session today with our respected lecturer, Ms. Mun Yee, but it was canceled because Ms Mun Yee already in her holiday for Chinese New Year. For this session , I am the chairman. At first, I didn't know what I wanted to do during the reflection time. Then , I decided to find some good movies, then we can watch it together during the reflection session . I think people nowadays love to watch movies in order to reduce their stress or just to entertain ourself. I try to find some good movies. It is quite hard since I didn't watch a lot of movies especially English movies because a lot of English movies have inappropriate scene. I finally decided to watch Korean movies which have two main genres , comedy and sad story. The title is 'Hello Ghost' , a story about a man who give up with this life and wanted to commit suicide. But something strange happen to him when he suddenly can see ghost. The storyline was very interesting. I recommended to watch it. I really hope the other mentee which is my friends will love the movies and find the movie interesting.

We arrived there around 1.00p.m. As soon as we arrived we meet our relative first, then we go and get the food. All of us were starving and craving for food there. There were a lot of delicious food there such us 'Ayam Masak Merah', 'Gulai Ikan Masin', Brownies, Chocolate cake, Pudding and a lots more.

There is a guest coming to visit us and will stay with us for 4 days in this Chinese New Year holiday. Again, I woke up early in the morning to go and buy some breakfast for all of us. Our guest loves to eat Nasi Lemak from the stall near our house. I drove the car and go to buy some Nasi Lemak for them. Although it is still early in the morning , there is already a lot of people line up to buy their delicious Nasi Lemak. Not to mention, their 'cekodok' is the best and different from others. I love their 'cekodok' very much. When it was our turn, we ordered for 15 'nasi lemak' with extra 'sambal'. Their 'sambal ' is also the best because it is the combination of sweet and spicy taste. When we asked for an extra 'sambal', they refused to do so. I told her that we can added money if we need to to get some extra 'sambal' with a good manner. But, one of them told us that they don't sell the 'sambal', the only sell Nasi Lemak, not sambal. I speechless with that and just nodded. The case is, they always give us a little bit of sambal and always we didn't get enough of it. I wondered why they act so hard to give us just an extra sambal, eventhough we want to pay.

Don't Judge A book By Its Cover

The English Idiom "don't judge a book by its cover" is a metaphorical phase which means "you shouldn't prejudge the worth or value of something, by its outward appearance alone". Of course, as a human being we cannot judge people with only looking by their appearance alone. We can't judge others just by looking and their faces, without even get to know them. Also, we can't judge others based on what other people told us about them. In other for us to know better about a person, we need to approach them, talk to them, be friend with them. Then, we can know them better then ever. Then, we knew that our judgement before was wrong or right. But, the main point is never judge others. Sometimes, the person have the grudge face, the angry face, the scary face that make people who laike to judge others think them as a bad person that someone need to avoid . But, they actually was the nicest person ever. I have experienced this kind of thing once when I was in high school. So, the moral is, never judge others. Change yourself to the better person.

Today I have family outing with my beloved brothers and sisters. We went out to eat the famous 'Ayam Penyet" in town which is known as 'Wong Solo' , the best 'Nasi Ayam Penyet' in town. From Indonesia. The best thing in there is their spicy and sweet sauce. For me I loves the spicy yet delicious soy sauce. When I go to wash my hand, I walked pass the kitchen . That when I saw they use ABS's soy sauce in their delicious soy sauce. I will make sure to buy that soy sauce and brought them to the hostel. So that I can eat this scrumptious soy sauce everyday. After we go for a shopping together, We go and ate at Ramly's fast food . There is not even a single person ate there even though Ramly's is a Muslim's food product. The price is very cheap compared to KFC or MacDonald. In my opinion, their burger is very delicious and juicy compared to KFC's burger. But sadly, there is not even a single person there at first. I think we need to support our own purple business because their food is Insya Allah halal and the ingredient is much cleaner and safer compared to other fast food . When my nieces was fighting over a cup of Milo, the worker gave us one cup full of Milo free of charge, without charge the money. What a kind person. I hope he will get a better job for his future soon.

Her father, which is I address as Abang Mang. Abang Mang is a man who can fix everything. He can fix a broken car, a washing machine, a leaking pipe, and what's more interesting is, he even make his own house. What I mean is, he build his house on his own. The house was very beautiful and the design was great. He was a creative and innovative person too. When I went to his house maybe about 3 months ago, he use only one air conditioner's condenser for two air conditioner in his house. So, it will reduced the usage of electricity. He can repair the whole car which is already broke and make the car can be used again .I was really amazed with his talent. He is one of man kind who can do everything . Very talented and a special kind of person. All of her son and daughter are a very intelligent person. They always get impressive result for every examination they take. One of his daughter, Ika was a last year SPM candidate . I wanted to give her a small gift for all of her effort for the examination. But, sadly I didn't have enough time to do so.

Why do you want to be a doctor?
Why do you want to study medicine?
How can you be so sure medicine is the right career for you?
This is some question that I keep asking myself when I need to choose for UPU. I admit that I have interest to become a doctor since I was young. I love to watch medical drama and I love to read books about the experience of doctor on how they treat their patients and how they face hardship in their work. The title of the book is 'Diagnosis' and was published by Dubook. In my opinion, the book is very-very good and something that you must read. You would not waste your money on buying it. They have published the new book this month. I can't wait to buy it from the bookstore. But, the question for myself is, is interest only enough to make me qualified to be a medical student or even a doctor?? I think that to be a doctor you need more than interest in other to go through all the hardship. Less time with family, need to sacrifice your time for others that need your help, less time for yourself and you need to have a though heart to face all the hardship. Sometimes I wonder , can i do this? Yes , I can. I don't want to disappoint my parent . They have go through all the hardship to pay for my study. How could I disappoint them? I have to do my best and try to get sponsorship for my degree soon. I will try my best to be a successful student and be a useful person for others in the future. May ALLAH ease everything for me. ~Aamiin~

While enroute, she remembered that she did not have any money in her pocket, she did not even have enough coins to make a phone call home.

At the same time, she went through a noodle shop, picking up sweet fragrance, she suddenly felt very hungry. She wished for a bowl of noodles, but she had no money!

The seller saw her standing wheat faltered before the counter and asked:

– Hey little girl, you want to eat a bowl?

– But … but I do not carry money … she shyly replied.

– Okay, I’ll treat you – the seller said – come in, I will cook you a bowl.

A few minutes later the owner brought her a steaming bowl of noodles. Ate some pieces, Sue cried.

– What is it? – He asked.

– Nothing. I am just touched by your kindness! – Sue said as she wiped her tears.

– Even a stranger on the street gives me a bowl of noodles, and my mother, after aquarrel, chased me out of the house. She iscruel!!

The seller sighed:

– Girl, why did you think so? Think again. I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you felt that way. Your mother had raised you since you were little, why were you not grateful and disobeyed your mom?

Sue was really surprised after hearing that.

“Why did I not think of that? A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel indebted, and my mother has raised me since I was little and I have never felt so, even a little.”

On the way home, Sue thought in her head what she would say to her mother when she arrives home: “Mom, I’m sorry. I know it is my fault, please forgive me … ”

Once up the steps, Sue saw her mother worried and tired of looking for her everywhere. Upon seeing Sue, her mother gently said: “Sue, come inside honey. You are probably very hungry? I cooked rice and prepared the meal already, come eat while it is still hot …”

Can not control any longer, Sue cried in her mom’s hands.

What I get from the story is in life, we sometimes easy to appreciate the small actions of some people around us, which is sometimes a complete stranger for us or just an acquaintance , but for the relatives, especially parents, we see their sacrifices as a matter of natural...
Parental love and concern are the most precious gifts we have been given since our birth. Parents definitely do not expect us to pay back for nurturing us...but have we as a daughter or son, ever appreciated or treasure the unconditional sacrifice of our parents? As their child, we need to sacrifice everything that we can to show them that we appreciated everything that they have done to us. Don't wait untill we became a successful person to do good things for them. The sad thing is when we become an adult, the growing older. Be a good child every time you got a chance to do so.

"My dad taught me everything, except how to live without him..."
" My mom taught me everything, except how to live without her....."

"Always love your mother and father because you will never get another", a beautiful quote that prove that mother's and father's love is a very special kind of love and can never be replaced by other people even though you search it all over the world. There is always a person in your life that you can count on them. That person is the one that gave you life and loves you unconditionally. That precious person are your mother and father. A mother's love is priceless and will always exist. You will never feel the same love from other people that is the same and warmth as our own mother's love. A father's love is shown with their act of loving, caring and protecting towards their beloved children .So, the point is , no matter how hard it is, try to be as nice as we can towards our beloved mother and father. Buy their favourite food whenever we are going to meet them, if we have salary, give them some money even though we can afford to only give them a penny. It worth it. When we are at home with them, help with all the house work. It is our responsibility to do so. Just let them rest when we were around. Sometimes, give them a massage. We need to remember, the sad reality is , as we are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growing old. Time didn't wait for us to be a rich and successful person so that we can treat them well. Treat them with all that we can do towards them in our current status. Sometimes , we didn't need money to make them happy. Just simply spend more time with them and show them that we love them with all of our heart. Be with them whenever they need us.

Mid-term examination for this semester is just around the corner. Same goes with Malaysian University English Test (MUET), also just around the corner. The Chinese New Year holiday just ended and this week started with quite busy scheduled. We learned new chapter of mathematics and chemistry. Luckily, the new chapter of mathematics that we learned today which is calculus (student usually address it as a killer subject( '',)was not included in the midterm and will included in our final exam soon. So today we just learned new chapter of chemistry which is quite confusing but it was not that hard if we try to understand and study well about it and do some tutorial in other to understand better. This week I have to struggle and study well all the core subject . I hope I can score well in midterm examination so that I can have a good carry mark for my final examination. After the class session in the morning ended, I go to the cafe to have lunch with my friends. Luckily, there are still food left so we can have our lunch with rice instead of sandwich. We bought our food and have lunch together. Shortly after that, the cafe already fill with student and the cafe became packed like a sardine in the can. We ate our lunch quickly to give other student place to enjoy their food. Then, we go to surau together to perform zohor prayer. Then after that, the lecture class continued with mathematics class which I learned the new chapter about Limits which is under one of calculus topic. Madam say that actually calculus is much easier than our mathematics one. The reason why the students always assumed calculus is the killer subject is because actually calculus topic linked to each other. If you miss one topic, it will affect your understanding for the other topic. For mathematics 1, the topic absolutely not linked to each other, so it is quite easy. And you can understand the new chapter even though you miss the lectur eclass before. No matter how hard it is, as a student what I need to do is study well and try my best to score. Biiznillah.

Today, I woke up early and get ready to go the the campus. I go early to campus today because I totally forgot to print my lecture notes for physics . We are going to learn the new chapter of physics today and it is about light. I usually need lecture notes when I learn a new chapter of something so that i can scribbled the note with the new information that the lecturer give me here and there in the lecture note. I don't like to write the information that didn't have in the notes in the other paper . It was because whenever i do that, i ended up misplaced the important notes. Different style with my friend. She prefer not to print the lecture note and just write the information in the book with the compilation of all the subject that we learn in this semester in one book. The note that she write is very useful and easily to be understand by her so that she didn't need lecture note. She is the clever student . After i reached the campus. I met one of my friends in the cafe. I immediately asked her permission to borrow her note so I can photostat it. Luckily, she have it and my problem settle. At lunch, as usual, we go to the cafe and buy our lunch. The line for white rice with various dishes already long with student. So, i decided to fill my stomach with Nasi Kerabu with fried chicken. After done buying my food, I go to the table and take a seat. One of my friend didn't want to eat and go to surau first. So, i waited for my other friend but she didn't coming. I am so hungry. I didn't have breakfast this morning. So i eat first without waiting for her. Shortly after that, international student came and take a seat at my table. All the international student from my batch. I only know few of them. So, it is a bit awkward for me. I greet them and smiled to them. Then, I continued eating my lunch. I am quite grateful that they take a seat at my table . So, i have opportunity and chance to get to know them. Then, after a long time, my friend came and apologized. She say that she have some matter to do . Then, we have our lunch together.

We should have mathematics class but the class was cancelled . But it being replaced with Physics tutor class. Unfortunately, our lecturer could not make it because she have some urgent matter. So, we just discussed among ourselves and the cleverest student in our class will check the answer to make sure it was the correct answer. But, a few question make us confused and we need madam explanation. So, one of us decided to meet madam after she has free to get the true answer. I am quite satisfied because most of the question in tutorial I can do it although i take quite a long time to finished it compared to my friend. After the class, i go home and take a rest before continue studying chemistry.

I got the new niece a few week ago, so I was very excited to go back home and take care of her. I totally love the smell of newborn baby. For me, the scent of newborn baby is much better than any perfume that sometimes can make you have headache if you pick a wrong perfume. This weekend on saturday, I help my mother clean the house compound. I swept all the dried leaves at my house compound and clear everything. After a few hours cleaning the house compound, i was very tired. But I was very satisfied seeing the clean environment outside my house. Then I make myself some cold drink to recharge my energy. Then I take a break after the work was done.

After getting myself ready, I still have a plenty of time before I go to campus with my friend. So, I read the notes again and again. I can already feel butterfly in my stomach. Then at 7.00am my friends and I go to the campus when there was still dark outside. I met all my member there. In the quarantine room, we decide on who gonna start the discussion at Task B and who gonna make a conclusion on it. After we decide, shortly after that, the examiners came in and give us some briefing and open the question of speaking test right in front of us. After that, our group was called to enter the speaking test room. With Bismillah, all of us enter the room. Alhamdulillah after approximately thirty minutes in that room, we have done our speaking test. I think we did quite well in the discussion even though we did not reach an agreement in the end of the session.

A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the remaining open areas of the jar.

He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous “Yes.”

“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff.”

“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal.”

“Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

This is one of the greatest motivational stories I have ever read. The story really given me a STRONG EMPHASIS on what are the priorities in life, and in daily routine.. Really helped me to tune my MIND towards my larger goal and to get rid of frustrations, arguments and other sensitiveness at least to certain extent..

I think that the message here is to set your social priorities first , Family always come first in fact the inner peace come from socializing with your family and friends and the unimportant things always come in the second stage even if it was more important to you than socializing.

I hope I can managed my time well to cope with everything that's going to happen

I have physics test 2 today. I studied the two chapter for test 2 yesterday. the chapter is about light and the nature of light. I think that I have studied everything the night before the examination. So, I slept peacefully last night. But, unfortunately, I forgot to study about how to draw the lens and the mirror when the object is inside or outside the radius curvature or inside or outside the focal point. I realized about it 2 hours before the test. So, I spend my whole lunch time to study about it. Like what I guess, the question is really in the test. Unfortunately and really sadly, I forgot to draw it even though I try hard to remember it. I was really sad. I hope it won't affected my marks for test 2.

So, I do it with my friend and discuss the question together. it make me really easy to understand because my friend can explain the topic really well to me. So, we go through all the question and we got stuck and certain question of differentiation involving logarithm. After struggling for quite a while to find the solution, We gave up and decided to ask madam about it in the tutorial class later on.

Today, the class end early which is at 3.45pm. The bus was coming at 4.30pm. So, I have got plenty of time. I asked my friend if they wanted to walk all the way to DPulze , to kill some time. All of them agreed and we excitedly walk all the way from CUCMS campus to DPulze, which is quie far away if we go there by walking. It taking us almost 15 minutes to walk there. We walked around in the DPulze and go to MPH, Daiso, Miniso, and DIY. After that, we go and buy some drinks at Boost, who only selling healthy drinks like mix of fruit juice and also some vegetable. One of my friend bought drinks mix of mango and watermelon, which have a very weird taste. I recommended not to buy that kind of fruit combination because it is to weird doesn't taste good at all. At 5 pm, we walked back home. On the way to our college, suddenly it's raining heavily, there's nothing we can do to avoid it, so we just walked a little bit faster . Finally, it taking us 30 minutes to reach our campus. All of us were wet and cold. But, it is an interesting story of the day..

Something mystery that happen in this world and most of them cannot be solved like case of really mysterious murder which cannot be solved by police and detective. We discussed about many interesting mystery cases that cannot be solved such as Black Dahlia, Elissa Lam case, Dancing Plate, Jack the Ripper. I love mysterious and thriller story, so , I love to know more about this kind of thing even though it does creep me out.

I easily understand it and the video teach me one by one that make me kind of easily get what the chapter is about. I kind of relieved that I finally understand more about organic chemistry because at first learning this chapter, I cannot understand it even though my lecturer explain to me very well. But , the reason why I can understand it easily is because I have heard about it in the class. So, when I watched the video, all the terms use was familiar to me. So, it makes me easily understand what the video trying to tell me. I hope I can do better in this subject soon.

And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely."

~ Al-Maidah (5:32)~

Prof explain to us that whenever a doctor or any healthcare worker save a person or a patient or by simply give them the treatment that they need , it is as he or she had saved mankind entirely. What he means is a healthcare worker is one of the noble work and we should do well in studying in order to be a successful and professional healthcare worker that can save a lot of other human live

One day a man saw an old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you. He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn’t thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, “And think of me.”

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn’t erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: “You don’t owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do, do not let this chain of love end with you.” Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard… She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, “Everything’s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.”

There is an old saying “What goes around comes around.”

The conclusion of the story is, whenever someone in needs, and we definitely can help them without any problem. So, don't hesitate and just lend them a hand. because one day, something bad might be happen to us, and who knows who is going to help us? The point is, try to be good to others and avoid ourselves from being bad person that do the mean thing towards other person. Remember, what goes around, come around.

So, we parked our car quite far away from her college. it was quite tough and tired day because we need to carry all the stuff and walked all the way to her college. what's more, her room was at eighth floor. So, we need to use lift to go up there. A lot of people were queuing . We got tired of waiting and decided to use stairs instead of lift.

Today I watched movie after the class to rest my mind a bit. The title is 'Miracle on Cell no 7", a very famous Korean Movie. The story is about Lee Yong-go, who is a mentally impaired father with the intellect of a six-year-old, who lives in a run-down house along with his daughter Ye-seung. One day, he gets into a physical altercation with the police commissioner, who has just purchased the last Sailor Moon backpack for his daughter, a gift Yong-go was saving up to buy for Ye-seung. Soon after, the police commissioner's daughter dies in a freak accident, in which she slips on ice and suffers a fatal blow to the back of her head while she is taking Yong-go to another store that sells the same backpack. When he tries to resuscitate her, a woman witnesses him and mistakes him to be molesting her. Yong-go is falsely accused of the abduction, murder, and rape of a minor. The police quickly took advantage of his disability and forced him to admit to the crimes, while ignoring exonerating evidence. Yong-go, who is sentenced to death, is imprisoned and assigned to Cell No. 7, the harshest cell in a maximum security prison. The storyline was very good and sad. I have watched this movie before, but it still make me cry when I watched it for second time. this story have a lot of moral value. One of it is loving and caring. The value of loving and caring of a father towards his beloved daughter. Yong-go try hard to collect money in other to buy his beloved daughter the bag and in the end, he finally bought it to his daughter and give it to her as his final gift.

We pay 5 ringgit each and wait for our turn which is at 5 o'clock. While waiting for my group turn, I help my classmate sell our food which is Chicken wrap and dip and dip marshmallow with banana and melted chocolate. Our food sell out quite early, so, after that I study organic chemistry with my friends because we have test tomorrow. Finally, it was our turn to enter the escape room. we need to find the clue inside the pitch black room in order to escape from the room. When we first step inside the room, we hear a very loud scream and we can't see anything clearly. the funny part is that our group can't find any clue because we were busy running from the zombies and cannot focus on finding the clue. So, we can't find the clue and the key and our group lose the game. But it was a very great experienced and they did a really good job on the escape room.

We know that poor nutrition is related to heart problems, high blood pressure, and a host of other health ailments. You might even know that studies show that eating junk food has been linked to increases in depression.

But if it's so bad for us, why do we keep doing it?

There is an answer. And the science behind it will surprise you.

Why We Crave Junk Food

Steven Witherly is a food scientist who has spent the last 20 years studying what makes certain foods more addictive (and tasty) than others. Much of the science that follows is from his excellent report, Why Humans Like Junk Food.

According to Witherly, when you eat tasty food, there are two factors that make the experience pleasurable.

First, there is the sensation of eating the food. This includes what it tastes like (salty, sweet, umami, etc.), what it smells like, and how it feels in your mouth. This last quality — known as “orosensation” — can be particularly important. Food companies will spend millions of dollars to discover the most satisfying level of crunch in a potato chip. Their scientists will test for the perfect amount of fizzle in a soda. These factors all combine to create the sensation that your brain associates with a particular food or drink.

The second factor is the actual macronutrient makeup of the food — the blend of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates that it contains. In the case of junk food, food manufacturers are looking for a perfect combination of salt, sugar, and fat that excites your brain and gets you coming back for more.

Here's how they do it…

How Science Creates Cravings

There are a range of factors that scientists and food manufacturers use to make food more addictive.

Dynamic contrast. Dynamic contrast refers to a combination of different sensations in the same food. In the words of Witherly, foods with dynamic contrast have “an edible shell that goes crunch followed by something soft or creamy and full of taste-active compounds. This rule applies to a variety of our favorite food structures — the caramelized top of a creme brulee, a slice of pizza, or an Oreo cookie — the brain finds crunching through something like this very novel and thrilling.”

Salivary response. Salivation is part of the experience of eating food and the more that a food causes you to salivate, the more it will swim throughout your mouth and cover your taste buds. For example, emulsified foods like butter, chocolate, salad dressing, ice cream, and mayonnaise promote a salivary response that helps to lather your taste buds with goodness. This is one reason why many people enjoy foods that have sauces or glazes on them. The result is that foods that promote salivation do a happy little tap dance on your brain and taste better than ones that don’t.

Rapid food meltdown and vanishing caloric density. Foods that rapidly vanish or “melt in your mouth” signal to your brain that you’re not eating as much as you actually are. In other words, these foods literally tell your brain that you’re not full, even though you’re eating a lot of calories.

The result: you tend to overeat.

In his best-selling book, Salt Sugar Fat (audiobook), author Michael Moss describes a conversation with Witherly that explains vanishing caloric density perfectly…

I brought him two shopping bags filled with a variety of chips to taste. He zeroed right in on the Cheetos. “This,” Witherly said, “is one of the most marvelously constructed foods on the planet, in terms of pure pleasure.” He ticked off a dozen attributes of the Cheetos that make the brain say more. But the one he focused on most was the puff’s uncanny ability to melt in the mouth. “It’s called vanishing caloric density,” Witherly said. “If something melts down quickly, your brain thinks that there’s no calories in it . . . you can just keep eating it forever.”

Sensory specific response. Your brain likes variety. When it comes to food, if you experience the same taste over and over again, then you start to get less pleasure from it. In other words, the sensitivity of that specific sensor will decrease over time. This can happen in just minutes.

Junk foods, however, are designed to avoid this sensory specific response. They provide enough taste to be interesting (your brain doesn't get tired of eating them), but it's not so stimulating that your sensory response is dulled. This is why you can swallow an entire bag of potato chips and still be ready to eat another. To your brain, the crunch and sensation of eating Doritos is novel and interesting every time.

Calorie density. Junk foods are designed to convince your brain that it is getting nutrition, but to not fill you up. Receptors in your mouth and stomach tell your brain about the mixture of proteins, fats, carbohydrates in a particular food, and how filling that food is for your body. Junk food provides just enough calories that your brain says, “Yes, this will give you some energy” but not so many calories that you think “That’s enough, I’m full.” The result is that you crave the food to begin with, but it takes quite some time to feel full from it.

Memories of past eating experiences. This is where the psychobiology of junk food really works against you. When you eat something tasty (say, a bag of potato chips), your brain registers that feeling. The next time you see that food, smell that food, or even read about that food, your brain starts to trigger the memories and responses that came when you ate it. These memories can actually cause physical responses like salivation and create the “mouth-watering” craving that you get when thinking about your favorite foods.

All of this brings us to the most important question of all.

Food companies are spending millions of dollars to design foods with addictive sensations. What can you and I do about it? Is there any way to counteract the money, the science, and the advertising behind the junk food industry?

How to Kick the Junk Food Habit and Eat Healthy

The good news is that the research shows that the less junk food you eat, the less you crave it. My own experiences have mirrored this. As I've slowly begun to eat healthier, I've noticed myself wanting pizza and candy and ice cream less and less. Some people refer to this transition period as “gene reprogramming.”

Whatever you want to call it, the lesson is the same: if you can find ways to gradually eat healthier, you'll start to experience the cravings of junk food less and less. I've never claimed to have all the answers (or any, really), but here are three strategies that might help.

1. Use the “outer ring” strategy and the “5 ingredient rule” to buy healthier food.

The best course of action is to avoid buying processed and packaged foods. If you don’t own it, you can’t eat it. Furthermore, if you don’t think about it, you can’t be lured by it.

We’ve talked about the power of junk food to pull you in and how memories of tasty food in the past can cause you to crave more of it in the future. Obviously, you can’t prevent yourself from ever thinking about junk food, but there are ways to reduce your cravings.

First, you can use my “outer ring” strategy to avoid processed and packaged foods at the grocery store. If you limit yourself to purchasing foods that are on the outer ring of the store, then you will generally buy whole foods (fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, etc.). Not everything on the outer ring is healthy, but you will avoid a lot of unhealthy foods.

You can also follow the “5 ingredient rule” when buying foods at the store. If something has more than 5 ingredients in it, don't buy it. Odds are, it has been designed to fool you into eating more of it. Avoid those products and stick with the more natural options.

2. Eat a variety of foods.

As we covered earlier, the brain craves novelty.

While you may not be able to replicate the crunchy/creamy contrast of an Oreo, you can vary your diet enough to keep things interesting. For example, you could dip a carrot (crunchy) in some hummus (creamy) and get a novel sensation. Similarly, finding ways to add new spices and flavors to your dishes can make eating healthy foods a more desirable experience.

Moral of the story: eating healthy doesn’t have to be bland. Mix up your foods to get different sensations and you may find it easier than eating the same foods over and over again. (At some point, however, you may have to fall in love with boredom.)

3. Find a better way to deal with your stress.

There’s a reason why many people eat as a way to cope with stress. Stress causes certain regions of the brain to release chemicals (specifically, opiates and neuropeptide Y). These chemicals can trigger mechanisms that are similar to the cravings you get from fat and sugar. In other words, when you get stressed, your brain feels the addictive call of fat and sugar and you're pulled back to junk food.

We all have stressful situations that arise in our lives. Learning to deal with stress in a different way can help you overcome the addictive pull of junk food. This could include simple breathing techniques or a short guided meditation. Or something more physical like exercise or making art.

With that said, if you're looking for a better written and more detailed analysis of the science of junk food, I recommend reading the #1 New York Times best-seller, Salt Sugar Fat (audiobook).

http://jamesclear.com/junk-food-science

In conclusion, from what i have read about the article, various scientific studies have determined that sugar and junk food: shrinks the brain, limits learning and memory, impairs cognition, is addictive, negatively impacts mood, and promotes overindulgence. Of course, the complete elimination of sugar from our diet is unnecessary (although ideal, health-wise). Instead, we should aim to strictly limit the amount of sugar in our diet. Those of us with children would be wise to monitor their sugar habit, as well. As what we all know, junk food can make us sick if we have it in a lot quantity as it contain many unhealthy ingredient. But, we still eat it and craving for it because it was delicious and we find it hard to stop once we started eating it. I think it is normal for us to love junk food such as chips, chocolate, sweets and so on. But, we need to eat junk food with right amount and not overeating it as it can be harmful to us. We craving this kind of food because the scientist who worked under food manufactures use to make food more addictive by several methods. Dynamic contrast, Salivary Response, Rapid food meltdown and vanishing caloric density,Sensory specific response , calorie density and Memories of past eating experiences. The good news is that the research shows that the less junk food you eat, the less you crave it. So the point is try to eat less junk food and eat more healthier food instead of junk food. Believe it or not, healthier food taste much better that junk food if you know how to prepare it. It took months to properly diagnose her. She was vitamin A deficient, due to a shortened bowel that made her body unable to absorb fat. The good news: The problem was totally fixable with injections of a basic medicine called Aquasol A, made by Hospira, an American generic drug company.

But bad news quickly followed. LaCognata learned that manufacturing challenges had forced Hospira to stop selling the drug, effectively plunging the entire world into a shortage. Without Aquasol A, LaCognata is going blind. United Airlines placed her on unpaid medical leave because she could no longer look at a computer screen. She is forced to wear an eye patch and can see only kaleidoscopic fragments out of one eye. “My kids call me Pirate now,” she says, “instead of Mom.”

LaCognata and her husband canvassed the world for Aquasol A. They contacted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the State Department, and every major eye hospital in America. (They found two vials, but they were expired, so hospitals wouldn’t release them.) The couple wrote and called hospitals and organizations in Israel, China, Canada, and Brazil. LaCognata contacted charities, including the Red Cross and the Helen Keller Foundation, that serve foreign populations prone to vitamin A deficiency, without luck.

A Hospira spokesperson said that the company recognized the “critical need” for Aquasol A and had contracted with a separate manufacturing company to “accelerate the product’s return to market.” But years later, the company has yet to resume its production.

It is listed on Hospira’s website as “out of stock.”

“I can’t believe this could happen in America,” LaCognata says.

A Shocking Epidemic
It seems unfathomable in our high-tech medical system, but in 2007, 154 drugs were in shortage, a number that almost tripled to 456 in 2012, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

Threatening medical-care options and patients’ lives, drug shortages have occurred in almost every pharmaceutical category. Antibiotics, cancer drugs, anesthesia, pain control, reproductive and gynecological drugs, cardiac medicine, psychiatric drugs, and intravenous-feeding solutions have all been in varying degrees of short supply or not available at all. Recently, nitroglycerin, an emergency room staple used to treat heart attack patients, has been in such severe scarcity that its sole U.S. manufacturer has restricted hospitals to 40 percent of their usual orders. A study published this March in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings attributed more than 15 documented deaths since 2010 to either lack of treatment or the switch to an inferior drug as a result of medication shortages.

Though the FDA has scrambled to alleviate the crisis and physicians have become deft at juggling or substituting treatments, there is no comprehensive solution to this drug-supply breakdown, which has persisted for a complex array of reasons.

The first is all about money. As generic drug prices have dropped, so have manufacturers’ profits. As a result, some manufacturers have failed to invest in infrastructure and quality control. To ensure safety, the FDA has taken regulatory actions that have halted supplies, with sterile injectable drugs, such as pain meds and chemotherapy, dominating the shortage list. (These are the most complex and costly generics to make.) The business model of just-in-time manufacturing—in which companies make drugs as patients need them but do not stockpile extra—leaves no margin for unexpected events.

Noting that there are no shortages of big profit-generators, like Viagra, many practitioners and patients suspect less-than-honorable motives by drugmakers. Some experts suggest that manufacturers may have financial incentive to temporarily stop production of a drug. Medicare reform imposed certain price controls on generic drugs, but, due to a loophole, these controls are lifted if a manufacturer stops making the drug for six months.

Limited manufacturing capacity is an important factor too. Over half the drugs on the FDA shortage list had only one or two manufacturers, according to a report by the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics. Some blame hospital buying groups, middlemen that purchase drugs and supplies for many of the nation’s hospitals, which have awarded contracts to some manufacturers and not others, thereby suppressing competition and innovation. The result is that for any given drug, there may be only one or two generic manufacturers left to produce it, which can lead to shortages.

Predatory middlemen are making the situation even worse. A congressional investigation led by Rep. Elijah Cummings, a Baltimore Democrat, has found that shady secondary wholesalers buy up drugs in shortage and resell them, often at exorbitant prices. This explains, in part, the haphazard ebb and flow of the shortages that makes them particularly hard to handle: One day the medicine is just gone, but there’s plenty the next.

But as experts debate the cause of the shortages, there is no disagreement over their devastating impact. They’ve turned pharmacists into professional beggars and have forced doctors to change treatment protocols on the fly—in some cases, turning routine care into a roll of the dice. They’ve stopped clinical trials and have led to the suspension of the death penalty in some states that use lethal injection.

Shortages are leading hospitals and patients to get drugs from less regulated and potentially less safe sources, such as drug compounders, specialty pharmacies that mix medications for individual patients. Some compounding pharmacies, which are not subject to regulation as stringent as that for drug manufacturers, have taken advantage of this and started churning out large volumes of drugs. But this can lead to safety issues. Such dangers became vividly clear in 2012, after contaminated steroids from the New England Compounding Center led to an outbreak of meningitis that killed 64 patients. A 2013 report by the Health and Human Services inspector general found that drug shortages have led 68 percent of U.S. hospitals to turn to compounders to make versions of medicine in short supply.

Patients today have to cope not only with being sick or choosing between treatment options but also with the possibility that the drug they need may be available solely from a risky source—or not at all.

Today, me and all my housemates, we are having quranic circle. Quranic circle is something like usrah. Some seniors will come to our house in varsity lodge to teach us how to read Al-Quran in a proper way, which means read Al-Quran with tartil and tajwid. She also picked some verse in Al-Quran and taddabur the verse with us. She will explain what the verse actually mean. Like today, we learn about meaning of verse in Surah At-Tin. From the verse, we know that we, human was created by our Al-Mighty as a very best of creation. But, if a human does not do what our Al-Mighty, Allah told us what to do, we are the same with animals, maybe worst than that. That's what our naqibah told us about the verse.

“Remember that failure is an event, not a person.”

It is very easy to start thinking of mistakes or failures like permanent things. Like they are you and you are a failure or loser.

But these things are just like successes not permanent. Things go up and down.

So don’t identify with the failure. Take some time to accept that it happened but try to not beat yourself up about it or make it bigger than it is.
