<title>Summary:In our scene it had just turned morning when Jody discovered that the barn doors had been swung open by the wind. To his surprise, Gabalin had left the barn when the doors opened and ran out into the field. The footprints of the horse were noticeable in the mud and had lead him to where Gabalin layed. Jody felt angry and scared at the same time as he saw a circle of buzzards around a small part in the field. As he got closer to the birds they lowered themselves and Jody saw a horrific sight. His pony lay on the ground still moving but close to death. Jody plunged himself down the hill and saw a large crow on the head of Gabalin, it had poked its beak into the eye of the horse. The buzzard took its beak out of the eye of the horse and it was dripping with dark eye fluid. In anger Jody grabbed the buzzard and beat it to death. The buzzard laid dead in the field and Billy Buck pulled Jody off the buzzard and Carl approached them both. Carl acted harsh to Jody and the death of his pony, while Billy tried to comfort him and he yelled at Carl for being so harsh about the. death. </title>
